She says "Get up, it's time to leave,"
I say, "Come on, I just wanna sleep,"
She says, "You can't, you know what's at stake,
If you don't show up, your mom's heart will break..."
And all I could do was weep and dilute
My bed with my tears, my covers were drenched
With salt-water sadness, a liquefied madness,
My sister reminding me what I have lost this year...
Everything passed away, what she meant to me,
I don't even think words could describe to you,
She was what kept my heart beating
On those weak winter nights where the cold so fierce
And my desire to live was dying out like the light does at midnight,
The moon ain't no sunshine, how can I survive,

Now it's my time to pay my respect
