Wonder.

There's a place for talking about music, television, movies, and a place to share what you wrote. But there's no place to talk about published, actual books. Is there a reason?

Unsurprisingly!... You aren't the only one who has made a thread, in this exact same forum, with the exact same title, with the exact same quesiton...

I also raised a thread "Books / literature section in The 4th Wall (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/showthread.php?t=56243)" back in October and received the answer:
The Open Book is for published works too, thats implied in its description
That there is insufficient demand for a separate forum

i reckon the name should be changes to "writing and literature " so people now its not just about storys that they wrote.
if only i could spell literature

What Nick said. Tweaking the name slightly might let people know that it's for published work too.

I think there should be a seperate forum for books. It was something that I overlooked when creating the 4th Wall in its original expanded form for a reaons that escapes me. But I really think a dedicated place to discuss published works would be good.

Would enough people use it to justify having it?

Well as I always think we won't know until its created. Whats the harm in creating one? None. If it's a disaster it can always be removed.
But of course thats not my decision to make. Even after so long its hard to shake the admin hat off.:P

Fair enough. I always forget that things can be undone in life.

Unsurprisingly!...Nothing happened, and bumping old threads is not okay. :3
I think it would be cool, I wouldn't use it much but I think other people would.

I think it would be a really good sub-forum to have and I'd definitely use it.

The fact that 3 different people, quite independently have raised this suggestion in the last 6 months or so suggest to me that, firstly, its not clear to people that The Open Book covers this too, and secondly, that there is a demand for a seperate area to discuss published literature.
