i usually go to bed at 8-11. but sometimes i can't fall asleep, even if i've been lying in bed for an hour+. after an hour or so, i usuaaly smoke some weed so i can fall asleep.
i was just wondering what are other ways of getting me to sleep?

1. Play some soft, soothing music that will lull you to sleep.
2. A glass of warm milk 15 minutes before going to bed will soothe your nervous system. Milk contains calcium, which works directly on jagged nerves to make them (and you) relax.
3. Get a full body massage before going to sleep.

You could try exercising to tire yourself...

Make sure that the TV is off.
Drink some hot milk.
Make sure you don't stay up the night before.

Don't go to bed so early. Just stay up until at least midnight, then try to go to sleep when you truly feel tired.
It's what I do every night.

Alarm?
I think she want's to be well rested, thus going to bed early allows her to get more sleep before she has to wake up early.

Just try thinking about relaxing, stress-free things, like lying on a beach or something. It almost always works for me. (:

Music, maybe a pet with you.
I sometimes hug a pillow, or a teddy (shhh its childish yes, but it helps)

Music is great for me. When i was little i never used to be able to switch off. I could never just relax my mind was always racing.
Music gives you something soothing and calm to focus on and it helps me to just drift off :)

You should dim the lights in the area that you stay in around an hour before you go to bed. Around half an hour before you go to bed, you should turn off any things that make you concentrate eg. TV.
Staying up later until you feel tired enough to go to sleep doesn't help you feel more rested - remember, even when not asleep, if you are lying in bed, you are resting.
Try to read a couple of pages of a book, preferably one which makes you think of happy thoughts.
I agree with Dylan above, I also hug a pillow, it feels nice to fall asleep gradually hugging something. :)
