Gorillaz - Plastic Beach

Almost five years after "Demon Days", Gorillaz come back with a new album "Plastic Beach". The album is to be released on March 9th in the US and March 8th in the UK. The band are to be headlining closing night at the Coachella Festival in California on April 18th. Other acts will include Jay-Z (Opening night, Friday April 16th) and Muse (Second night, Saturday April 17th). But it seems that Gorillaz are the ones making the big noise. But will we see the 3D animation projections (Grammy Awards 2006) or will it be on a large screen (The Manchester Opera House shows from the Demon Days tour)? No matter which, it's sure to be a major comeback.

The song "Stylo", a new single off the album, leaked last month and can be found on YouTube. Less than a month, who's excited?

I believe in an interview once, they mentioned that they never did hear from the man himself as to what his thoughts are on the song. xD

But yes. I've recently fell in love with these guys again (well, recently, more like a month or two back) and cannot wait for this. Doesn't look like it's being as hyped up as Demon Days, though.

I consider this good though. I am now excited for Plastic Beach again. I was quite disappointed.

You may have noticed that I have become substantially more technologically inclined in recent weeks. Since I moved to the earth's most isolated spot, Plastic Beach, it's downright essential to get tooled up in order to spread my Gorillaz magic around the waiting world! I got a 'Twitter' so I can 'Tweet' my brain at every opportunity. I erected a radio mast to broadcast my musings out to my adoring public. I'm on Facebook, for god's sake!!!

And why is all this??? All in order to let you know that our newest long player, the majestic Plastic Beach, is out next month. We're a little changed as a band - Noodle and Russel are MIA and 2D's locked in the glass bottomed observation room downstairs - but the backbone,
the soul, the essence of Gorillaz is still intact: ME!! And I've gathered together a merry band of collaborators to help me make the
final part of the glorious Gorillaz triptych: Plastic Beach. (You can read all about the making of the album in this month's Q Magazine, if
you like WORDS. And PICTURES. I prefer WINE, WOMEN and SONG, myself.)

What else? The single's out now! We're playing Coachella! I'm the new judge on Pop Idol!

Same here. Every time I hear it it gets better. It was mediocre at first but now it's excellent.

Not to mention Bobby Womack with vocals on "Stylo" is like an orgasm for the ears. Superfast Jellyfish, for as long as I hear it, just doesn't sound like a Gorillaz song but it's catchy. It's quirky, but not too quirky where you feel the complete need to skip it. On Melancholy Hill is, by far, going to be the best single off the album. From the last 25 most played songs, the top three are from Plastic Beach (On Melancholy Hill, Stylo, and Welcome to the World of the Plastic Beach).

Hoping they'll do something for a "tour". From the videos where they used 3D models for the Grammy Awards Show four years back, I could see them doing a tour.
