I'm looking for a nice desktop side bar, I was wondering if you guys knew of one?
I run OS Windows XP Home Edition.

Something like the Vista sidebar? http://www.mydigitallife.info/2006/12/05/install-and-create-vista-sidebar-in-windows-xp/

Kinda, something that VERY userfriendly, very customizable and isn't gonna force open windows to be pushed to the side.

So something more Windows 7-ish where it doesn't exactly have a bar, but free floating gadgets?
Something like Yahoo Widgets? http://widgets.yahoo.com/

It /should/ work, seeing as it is the /actual/ Vista sidebar application.

Nope, it's a patched executable that allows it to run on XP.
Just follow the tutorial. ;)

This may seem stupid, but why don't you 'upgrade' to vista then it should work perfectly. If not then go straight to 7.

Let me put it to you this way, I got grounded for a week when I updated the Service Pack.

So because you made your computer more secure, she grounds you? Smart woman. Has she ever said WHY she objects to updates?

Ah my mom is just the same way. Thank God I have my own laptop. >_>
But I never heard of a sidebar that's meant for XP...unless you want the Quick Launch bar which isn't that quick in my opinion...The only option would be to upgrade (FIGHT THE POWER) or just deal not having one.
