My friends all make fun of me because I tan at a tanning salon, and it really frustrates me. What does Virtual Teen think about guys who tan? Do you think it is feminine? I don't, I just want to look good!

I absolutely love guys with a tan. I have no problem with guys who do that.

Not really feminine.

Well, I make fun of people who go tanning in the middle of winter, or people who over do it. But they're usually my friends so I'm not trying to be a dick.
It gets ridiculous here, though. I don't find people with fake tans attractive. It's too... I don't know.

I do it sometimes. lol It makes me feel good and sometimes I just go to get in a better mood. Just don't go very much in winter. We aren't meant to be tan then.

personally i like pale guys, guys who arent afraid to show who they truly are. but thats just me, if it makes you feel better about yourself than who am i to say your wrong. the only thing that i would worry about is skin cancer or skin starting to look old and leathery...

skin cancer or skin starting to look old and leathery...

That's another thing. The process of tanning is your skin dying.

Which is why I appreciate a natural tan. Genetics can be a wonderful thing.

If God wanted us to look like Oompa Loompa's with orange skin, he would have made us like that.

I don't personally think it adds to anything. If you've got a nice body, you've got a nice body, regardless of the hue of your skin.

nothing wrong with tanning. it's not feminine.

i even use to put a bit of makeup on my face, just a bit, but this it's feminine either. u people should care about ur appearance, and to have a will to look good doesnt make u feminine. u just mustn't exaggerate ;)

Personally, I don't tan unless I have a vacation coming up. Like, I've bene tanning for the last few weeks so when I go to Florida in a couple weeks, and when I go to Mexico in a month, I don't fryyyyyy.

Personally i dont tan becuase i dont want to get skin cancer. But i do tan on the beach but wear alot of sun screen becuase I dont want to burn. But if you like tanning in saloons you can. Take my motto do whatever floats your boat.

I prefer going outside one sunny day at the start of summer and getting my perfect tan in a day thankyouverymuch.

Like Lawrence said, genetics are wonderful.

Tanning = bad. Regardless of whether one is male or female.

Sure, your dark skin may look fabulous on you when you're young. But time isn't so kind to your youthful looks, and nobody, including you, stays young forever. And tanning beds most definitely do not help with that.

By the time you hit the age of 35 people are going to look at you and wonder if having sex with you would be like humping a well-worn leather wallet. And that's assuming you haven't already lost all your hair and thinned down to a skeleton from chemotherapy and skin cancer.

Tanning beds are evil, people. Avoid them. It's better to be satisfied with yourself the way you are.

As long as you dont come out orange your cool with me.

Can you not tan outside? Just wondering - I know I have very fair skin that I burn. After burning I peel and then I'm pale again. Hell, I even burned in a tanning booth.

I lawl @ people who use tanning beds, but that's just me. I mean, you can get skin cancer easier and other such things, and orange tans are kinda creepy. But every time I had to go to the tanning bed and wait while my sister was tanning, I always thought it was odd to see a guy there, but not really any more.

Who wants to look young when they're old anyway? That defeats the entire purpose of being old. I get a nice tan once a year here, usually by just being outside.

Have fun looking like a ghost and not getting laid until you're 35.

I'm personally not a fan and wouldn't do it. A lot of people it just looks unnatural on, not to mention the many bad things that can come from it.

I don't tan, like EVER. I only burn :(
So I have to use fake tan or go around looking like an albino.
But I don't over do it, I don't want to look orange or anything. I just do a little bit, just enough that I'm not white.

EDIT: oops, this thread is about tanning salons -_-
duhhhh

LOL I don't like them, they scare me.

I don't really mind if they get a tan or not because they're simply trying to look good, just like wearing fancy clothing.

Yup yup, 'tis dangerous. And orange people are quite unnatractive. o.O I don't think there's anything wierd or wrong with a guy going to a tanning salon. I don't like tans, but thats just me. >.>; It's your skin, do what you want with it. :P

I'd rather not date a guy whose skin will look like a baseball glove in 30 years. Really though, I love pale guys or guys who are naturally darker, if you're not meditterainian or black to begin with, don't try to be, it's not cool.

I never plan on getting an artificial tan...I just don't see the point....Just go outside...haha.

I get a pretty good tan during the summer because I'm outside a lot (cutting grass and golfing) and that usually lasts pretty well throughout the winter, even if our winter is longer than our summer...haha

To be quite honest, Id rather stay pale than risk getting skin cancer for the sake of a tan. If you want a decent tan, just spend a bit more time in the sun using the correct amount of sun screen and you should get a perfectly healthy tan instead of an artificial one that could potentially cause damage to your health.

I don't think it's feminine, I don't think it's weird in any way..
If a guy wants to go to a tanning salon then that's his prerogative.
I have nothing against it. (though I will never do so myself for I think it's unhealthy)

Like I said, natural tan is hot, orange color is not. So long as you don't bake in the sun a lot I doubt you'll get skin cancer.

You want to tan? Pleaseee use the sun.
