So an atheist couple have a child. The child grows up and has to learn the pledge of allegiance and national anthem. Is it fair that the parents would have to contradict being atheists to being Christians to fit in, so the child would understand why god is in the national anthem and pledge of allegiance? Or is that not fair at all? I mean, all infants and children are born non religious before understanding the morals of religion in my philosophy, so if the child hasn't been occupied with a higher power, and fellow class mates that have start asking the atheist child questions, how should the parents react?

Just wanted your opinion, VT.

Infants are born non-religious, not atheists. There's a difference.

Ideally, that child should learn from a young age how to tell people to fuck off and mind their own business. Whatever your beliefs are, you should be firm in them.

I'm going to assume the parents and child are legal citizens. If so, then they should know that in the country, they follow the anthem as it applies to everyone of all religions. If the child gets asked questions about god, then I think depending on the child's age, the child should take it into their own hands and look up a bit on what the belief in question is. The parents could give their reasons for their disbelief in theism but I do not think they should prevent their child from socializing with theistic individuals.

Any and all of my child are going to taught that religion is an outdated form of trying to rationalize the world we live in.

Im going to let my children if i have any decide what they want to practice, if my daughter wants to be a Buddhist, fine with me, if my son wants to practice islam, thats fine with me, tbh people overrate religion, Me personally, i wasnt baptised or whatever so i have no religion, plus many of the things i do are sins in many religion so its best either have no religion or do whatever you want and dont force it onto others
