I used to live with my grandparents and mum when I was younger (she was a single mother due to an abusive relationship with my father who attempted to hit me so she threw him out.) and my grandparents smoked like crazy, and I HATED the smell of it.
Anyway after my mum got married and we moved out, I started noticing those anti smoking ads and I told my grandparents everytime i saw them not to smoke because it wold kill them and I didn't want that to happen. They ignored me and smoked anyway until my grandmother had a cancer scare. She didn't have cancder but it was an eye opener for them that I was right and they quit immediatley.

When I was in grade 8 I had 2 of my best guy friends tell me not to smoke because after running one lap they were panting. 13/14 and panting after a short lap around the gym. It was sad. And I've tried it and it made me sick and tasted gross! Such a waste of money.

Annnd! Not only does it affect your health, but it releases things called 'free radicals' which are good when in balance, but smoking and set off this balance increasing the chances of alot of cancers, mutated genes AND it'll make your skin age that bit faster.

Since two of my grandparents smoked cigarettes and one of them died from it, i think that i have a mental safeguard that keeps me away from those things. I don't think i would smoke either. especially after health classes since kindergarten showing what happens to smoker's lungs, gettign more detailed each year. the health teacher this year actually has pig's lungs and showed us that the one of a smoker actually dripped tar.

But some people go out of their way to come up to me in the street and yell at me for smoking. It's a respect issue, I get it, but we've been pushed out to the streets.
