I'm not even sure why I'm posting this lol, oh well...try to enjoy :P
I'm not sure what's worse,
a lacking goodbye,
or an ever subtle goodnight.
But in the end,
can we really make amends,
to the darkest dreams of the night.
I was just trying to let you know I would be there,
but you have found your own way now,
on your own special flight.
I was there, to be your friend in the blackest nights,
keep you safe from the biteys,
oh the biteys, how they haunted, and gave you such a fright.
A love I knew was undeserved,
but welcomed all the same,
so many times that love had kept me sane.
With blood and pain I came,
found warmth like I had never felt,
but I felt it all the same.
A horrid day and a sad mistake,
you said you were nearly gone,
I gave you what you needed, helped you to stay strong.
We were perfect, a natural equalibrium,
but I beg to differ, because now I see,
you would one day turn your back on me.
But where were you!
you had gone by the time these demons,
came for their own,
they came marching back again, trying to find a place to call home.
They came back again,
without you the blood did flow,
I really did think that you'd be there,
but I had nowhere to go.
Well those demons came,
I counted each of them, one by one,
I tried to put up the sincerest of fights,
but the battle had been won.
The demons still seem to reside,
somewhere that I call inside,
but the soldiers of old are rising again,
like a pheonix from ashes, born of the flame.
One day soon, not long from now,
to these hardened soldiers,
those demons will bow,
you left me in the darkness
you left me so alone,
but I am crawling back,
and I will fight to the bone.
