One of the websites I like to go on refuses to work for me on my desktop, which I use a lot. On any other computer, be it my Dad's laptop, my Mom's laptop, or the Mac in school, it will work and let me on. But, when I use my desktop, I get this message.

The connection was reset
The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.

* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments.

* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.

* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

It's been like this for the past few weeks, so I don't know what to do.

Try flushing your dns.

Start>Run>"cmd"> "ipconfig /flushdns".

I've already tried that. Doesn't work

Can you still ping the site?

Um, can you explain what that means? Sorry, I don't really know tech terminology

Heh, sorry.
Send a request and see how long it takes for a reply, it will also tell you how good of a 'connection' your computer has to that particular site.

Go back to command prompt, and type in "ping <entersiteURLhere> -t", let it run for about 15 or so replies, then press Ctrl+C.
It will then tell you your ping stats, what you're looking for is your % of packets lost, and the average/max time. Post the three of those here.

Alright. This is what came up after Ctrl + C

Packets: Sent = 25 Received = 25 Lost = 0
Approximate round trip times in Milli-seconds:
Minimum = 81ms, Maximum = 230ms, Average = 104ms
