View Full Version : Make a sticky for survays in the puberty forums

There seems to be alot of survays in the puberty form. Maybe it would be a good idea to make a sticky for all survays, so that they dont clutter up the other posts.

the problem witht that is that there are so many surveys that a thread that poses a question won't be seen till past all the surveys. I think its fine the way it is now.

It's better that they be separated. It would be a good idea, but things would get too jumbled up and cause major confusion. I like the idea though.

Fair idea, as Matt said though. It would probably get confusing after a few replies.

I don't see how it would be any....
Wait... Stickies are just ONE topic aren't they, not a sub category?
Maybe a surveys catagorey would be easier? I mean, surveys for everything, not just puberty stuff.

No, it would still get jumbled up then. If we were to keep the separate surveys as they are, be they puberty related or not, it would be easier to keep track of the responses. Besides, most of our surveys come form the puberty forums.

Well, now, i really don't see how they would be jumbled up. It would be the same as any other category. Sometimes I think people on here are afriad of change, it doesn't seem like a difficult or bad idea. I like it.

We aren't afraid of change, we're just taking into account the possibilities of what could or could not happen if we put the suggestion into effect. It wouldn't be the same as any other category. If we were to say put the girls and boys puberty surveys together and decided to mix in a survey on something else related to the subject. You would get fifteen boys responding to the questions asked, then you'd get fifteen girls doing the same, and a mix of the two doing the other survey. Then you might have a mass jumble of multiple users of the two genders making posts left and right on all three surveys and we can't tell which post is relating to which survey. Not to mention that it can possibly screw up post count in the thread or other errors.
It's better to keep them separated because we need things to be in an orderly fashion. Why? Because if we have things in an orderly fashion, we can attain order. I'm not saying this is a full out bad idea, I like it to an extent. However, I don't see it ever coming into fruition any time soon.
Once again, I will restate: I AM NOT COMPLETELY OPPOSED TO THE IDEA. I am saying it might work but it might not. If you don't think about the possibilities, as I have ALSO stated previously, then you won't get far. Always think things out before saying them ;)!

But I thik this would keep things in order. It doesn't have to be a puberty survey thing, those are most boring things ever. I mean a category for general surveys, about anything. Yeah, people would post in it left, right and center.... I was under the impression that was the point of a forum site like this? I don't think we're on the same page..

Help and Advice, not surveys. Although surveys are used on the site to offer help and advice sometimes.

Of course we're not on the same page. This forum is for help and advice, although as Ben has stated, some surveys are used for giving advice.

The name of that form is "General Questions, Polls, and Surveys"? So surveys go in there as separate threads. It would be a bad idea to put all surveys as a sticky because then they will all be mixed up and really confusing. If you wanted to answer a survey you would have to go through the hundreds of other ones just to find it then have to go through the thousands of replies just to see who is like you in that survey. It's just to much confusion things are fine just the way they are.

Well then if surveys are used to give advice then what are we arguing about?? LOL
And theres already countless surveys in the forums, so this idea really wouldn't do harm. Plus if we had somewhere to post surveys maybe we would be able to find questions in things like the puberty forums.
Yeah, we have the General polls, questions and surveys! I forgot about that! See, we already have it so it's obviously not all that worthless...

It's pointless though, as it would just jumble everything up. It's perfectly fine the way it is.

We already have a really big ass survey that people seem to not be able to get all of their information that they are seeking from...

I fail to see how it would jumble anything up.... It would make things way easier. :( sigh...

Are you sure you understand the suggestion then, which is to put all the surveys in a single thread? Of course all the answers would be jumbled up, how could that possibly be "way easier"?
I'm completely with Tom on this one. Surveys go in the "General Questions, Polls and Surveys" forum which stops them cluttering up elsewhere and I dont see any reason to change that.

I also am with Tom and Nick and Ben and everyone else that it should stay the way it is becuase it would jumble everything up unnecessarily

It jumbles up everything because all of the threads and posts will be arranged by post date not thread title, so it won't all be together different answers will be in different spots.

Because he's probably looking for a way to click less
I agree with everything Tom has said. It would be too jumbled because it would all be arranged by the post date and not the thread title. Besides, if the surveys are separated, it will make tracking them much easier and it would keep the forum clean of any clutter/junk.

Matthew, shhhh don't tell anyone :P lol
No, you guys didn't understand what I meant. I disagree with the single thread suggestion because obviously thats not going to work, but i think a whole category for surveys of any kind would be a whole lot easier. I mean, most of the things in the puberty category are surveys, this would help people with actual questions to be able to find their answer easier without being attacked by pointless surveys which probably have the same questions..

NOW we're gettin' somewhere. What you're suggesting is a completely new FORUM for survey threads. Well, it could work, but my guess is that it would become flooded with P101 surveys just like the General Puberty forum is at the moment. Some good might come out of it, maybe have a survey about life, personal opinions on subjects...it could work.

The majority surveys we get are p101 surveys there are so few of the others that we can have them in others spots where they are appropriate. I think if we just keep everything where it is right now things will be perfect. Don't fix something that's not broken and there's no use upgrading to something you don't need.

its what ive been saying the whole time.... maybe i need to work on my descriptive skills.
Empty Misery is right... it's not broken. ANd we don't really NEED it... but the way I see it, it's very useful

Oh. I feel like an idiot now :(
It would work but I don't see why we need it. As Tom said there's hardly any other types of surveys.

Yes, I think that your descriptions should be a bit more elaborate. I agree with Thomas too, but I still think it would be a good idea for future discussion on the topic of surveys.

There's already a subforum for surveys. Also, there are so many surveys it wouldn't matter.

Actually that sub forum is for general puberty surveys only.
