Ingrown toenail!!!!

Hey i have had multiple ingrown toenails on the same foot...about 5 in the last 3 years. i have my 5th one right now, and the last 4 i have had "surgery" on (small procedure in Docs office).

anyway, my question is:
Have you ever had an ingrown toenail and how many if more than one



*NOTE* I am not in any sports that require squeezing-toe shoes. I also shower regularly, and cut my nails straight. :confused:

Yes, I have had a ingrown tonail.. Probably about 4 to be exact. I went to the DR and then numbed my toe and then took pliers and ripped it out.

I have 1, just one ( Thank god ). I know how painful it is especially when you kick a step or the leg of some furniture. I'd stop whatever I am doing, sit down and vegetate for 10 mins or so :D

I've had one too. Try cutting your nail straight across instead of curving it. This should help, but don't try to cut it straight if you're unable to do so, don't force it. If that doesn't work, try soaking your feet, and putting some anti bacterial on it and keep your feet clean.

Yes I have had a million in the same place in the same toe. But it's not just an ingrown toenail, It's due to a small tumor pushing my nail up and over, which I'm getting surgery on soon, actually going to the consultant tomorrow morning. I thought it was an ingrown and nothing else but many different things can cause it. It's increadably painful =/

I've had one, and it was from my running shoes. It hurt like a bitch, but I took it out myself. I haven't had one since.

Pretty gross.

You can also get another surgery done at the hospital to prevent further ingrown toenails, this is a fair bit more effective than getting it done at the doctors.

I've had 6 on one foot and 2 on the other over the past 2 years. I've got two on both feet right now. It's infected now though, extremely painful.

when it was infected, I soaked my toe in Warm water with epsom salt, or with dish soap...YEAH IT WORKS, it loosens the skin and allows it to get the skin from under the nail...:yes:
