Capture Cards?

What's the deal with Capture Cards?

A few people have mentioned them, but I don't really understand them.

it lets you capture the audio and video of the game
and puts em in a video file on the computer

Where does it go... into the console, or the Tv?
Does the computer have to be linked to the card?

it usually goes into both
the cables that connect the console to the tv
it splits them so usually needs splitters

just search on youtube how tpo set one up

Well for the new question, sorta... There are some internal cap cards, that you just have to install, they're nicer for less. But an good external one is Dazzle. It's a $50-$100 (US Currency) cap card, that comes with the program, and for the $100 an editing software too (a cheap one as is, but it works)

i got a dazzle from Amazon for like 30 quid
didnt find any in any shops tho
maybe try pc world or curries or somethin?

Yeah, I've had a quick look. I'll have a thorough look after school... I've seen a few vids about installing Dazzle cap cards and I have another question :)

Do I need an Av splitter? Will it be included with Dazzle?

the splitters arent included

my splitters only got delivered today so i had it running with my standard def cables in my dazzle and my hd cables in my tv and i was listening to the audio through my computer using the pinacle dvd recorder software i got with it

my splitters came today tho and they making it alot easier cos the audio doesnt keep cutting out like it did through my computer

and the quality isnt really that bad

i have it with the single end of the splitter with the xbox cables
and the double end eaqch with the 2 av cables i bought one going to my tv and one going to my dazzle

You legend... and that's worked with a console of some sort I'm guessing?

yea its plugged into my xbox right now
and into my computer
the dazzle comes with a disk for an instant dvd recorder
its weird to set up but ill show you how when you get it
you also may need a program called am cap which is free cos sometimes the colour isnt set yp right so you just need to turn that on each time you want to record its not to much a a hastle i jsut have it as a quicklink at the bottom so i can easily get to it so none of my video is black and white


only thing i can think of is if you have a mac i have no clue if it works with that
