Ok so not so long ago my brother and his friends massacared my ps3 with vodka. he told me hed pay to have it fixed but now hes refusing because it cant be fixed and he owes me a new one, i just found out!. worse again the idiot decided to come into my room while i was moving my stuff around today while i was meant to be studying and scream at me. i turned around with my xbox in my hands as he threw my boots at me knocking my xbox and breaking it. a 120gb hard drive too! he is refusing now to pay for either of them and i bought them out of my own pocket. not amind my cd that he broke, 1 of a thousand originals only 300 surviving in the world. hes cost me nearly a thousand euro in less then a month al bought with my money! and he wont pay a cent back to me.

i tried telling the parents but i got this.
mom:so what, you should have kept your boots in your room. leave your brother alone.
me: what about my ps3 and my cd.
mom: laura just fuck off and leave your brother the fuck alone.
me:fuck that. he owes me hundreds
mom: laura leave your brother the fuck alone or you will be in big trouble. now piss off.

sorry about the rant but i was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how i could get him to pay me back even a little of the money.

i mean its going to take me months to save up all that money again

Does your home have insurance? You may be really lucky and be able to claim it on that.
If not, how old is your brother, maybe his age is causing your mother to see you as the 'bag guy' in this situation. Apart from those the last thing I can think of is perhaps asking someone else in your situation to back you up.
I know if that sort of thing happened to me i'd want to smash all of his stuff up in revenge, but that'll only get you a bittersweet victory.

Thats really screwed up. Is there anything of his you can hold ransom? Like Amanda said, breaking all his stuff would only be bittersweet. I have no idea if such a thing is reportable to the police...probably isnt. Try talking to your dad, maybe he can be more reasonable. Best of luck.

id say take his most prized possession and bribe him
if he pays you back he gets that one thing back
make sure it is something that he can not live without

Wow, your mom's a real cunt. Also, you should just go out and break your brother's balls. Seriously, he deserves it, and any punishment you get is worth it.

Like his balls.

Id post some of the things shes said to me but i think they would be too inappropriate, i left out half of the convo lol the inappropriate stuff.

and sadly my brother only cares about himself and breaks everything he gets including 4 beds in a year and a half. 2 of them were steel supports instead of wood.

I am really sorry to here about the situation, there really isn't anything you can do without your parents, you could contact the police for him damaging your property I don't know how that would go, I think you should sit down with your brother, mum and dad at the same time and tell them its wrong and I would like for it to be fixed, and if they say no say you are willing to get the police involved :)

I really don't see a mother saying that in such a situation, but hey. Stranger things have happened.

The ransom thing won't really work because he can just hold something else of yours ransom. As much as it sucks, the best thing to do here is tough it out.

Trust me on this. Sometimes, if you wait something out long enough, you'll find that people will reap what they sow without you having to lift a finger. What you have to do is completely disassociate yourself with him. Don't talk to him; not even a single "hello" or a look in the eyes.

Pretend he doesn't even exist. Show no anger or anything. One day, he's going to realize that he fucked up. Whether it's because he needs you for something or whatever.

My mom is like that. i dont know why but its the whole mentality of the family. its part of why i am the way i am. my brother makes it impossible to ignore him

So, steal his then. Or, if possible, find another way of locking the door.

Does your brother have any problem, like social or maybe even psychological? Maybe that's the reason why he did that, and the reason why your mom told you to, putting in that terms, "fuck off".

Well, I think that if your brother doesn't have any problems, the best thing you can do is confront your mother, and tell her he can't act like that, for real. Don't let her ignore you.
