View Full Version : Finally over?

I think I've finally at the end of all this drama with my harming. My counsellor is thinking of discharging me. I have cut since last year and have only felt the urge twice since. I'm sorry I haven't been on here in so long. Maybe I thought it would be triggering. Maybe I'm just making excuses. Either way. I think I'm slowly getting better and I just felt like telling everyone here this news. It might give them hope. I was once so bad that I wanted to die and didn't see anyway out from the cutting. I was so bad that I loved doing it and didn't want to stop. And now, I'm more or less over that last hurdle. To everyone on this site: Know that you can do it. Find support and help and stick it through the hard times. It will get better. Know that no matter what, you are loved and you deserve happiness.

Post like this are always bitter-sweet I'm always happy that people are recovering but when you say "know that you can do it" (or words to that effect) I never believe it and it kind of makes me... sad (anti-climactic I know)

I understand that. And truthfully, nothing anyone says can make you believe it sadly. Either way, everyone should battle through it, because the moment when you realise you can do it might still appear :D

Morgan, that's excellent to hear. Its great to hear that you've only thought about it twice within the past year because a lot happens in a year and it shows your strong will and courage to keep yourself on the right path. Your counselor won't release you until they are sure you are capable of handling everything on your own and by the "looks" of things, this day appears to be soon over the horizon.
