During the day I'm happy and can cope with most problems but if somethings to much I cut a few times, but at night it's far worse. When it's late and I'm usually the only one up a million thoughts go through my head at once and nine times out of ten it's about something that happened earlier that day or week and it's really starting to settle in. I get really depressed and like have conflicts in my head about what I should do, one sides says start cutting and don't stop until I lose the feeling in my leg, the other side says to just go to sleep and hopefully forget about it. The side that says to cut has been getting louder and louder and I've been starting to talk to myself out loud trying to convince myself not to cut and sometimes telling myself that I should. Also I start to think about other things like this...

I met some new friends a couple months ago from another site and like we immediately became like a family and I started blogging recently and I posted about my cuts and how many I had done recently during that time. Almost immediately one of them read it and told the others and I was dragged into a skype call where they just had me spill everything and tell them why I did it. At the end they told me to promise them that if I ever felt like I needed to cut that I would call them and let them help me. So now I feel like shit from hiding the fact that I cut the other day from them. I know by the time they find out they'll be disappointed and probably pissed at me might stop talking too...

Now that I typed this shit out the only thing I want to do now is cut ugh fml.

Be honest, if they are true friends, they'll stick around.

Sounds like you could do with good "sleep hygiene".
You need to relax before sleeping, and your mind should start to quieten & settle down & you'll be able to sleep easier.

Is it because your on your own at night. Only you and your thoughts, one of the worst things even if you dont want to cut.
I would tell your friends, just say that it was a really tough night and you neeeded to do it. Im sure they will understand and you can carry on lie nothing happened.
Just try not to think about it, watch TV go onto the computer something.

this worked for me last night.... get a cup of ice cold water and keep pouring it over your head.
telling yoru frieds is good (well the ones you trust) if they are your friends explain them why you didn't tell them at first, they should understand and except.

remember hurting yourself hurts others as well, tell your freinds they can help, go to therapy that can help, if you dont want to do that look in the mirror every morning and night and say to yourself 10 times i will not cut, make this a promise to yourself, and evry time you want to just say to yourself i will not cut and keep doing it until the urge goes away. if you need something more serious when you cut imagine the most sick disgusting horrible thing you can every time you cut and eventualy your brain will associate that memory with cutting and you will want to stop

So I told them in a way but I also said that it's my last time and I'm quitting. Which I mean I'm not doing it anymore.

i dont think your friends will stop talking to you, and if they do, they obvously dont understand anything your going through and how hard it is to cut, and then tel someone.
But generally it is night time people start to cut more, more thoughts are going through your mind. Have you get anyone you can talk to? maybe you should speak to a close friend or a teacher or someone??

Music. thats all i can say...i have the same problem. except i hear voices telling me to kill my family and all scary stuff. music loud so it rings in ur ears works for me.

If they're any sort of friend, they won't be mad at you because you cut or because you didn't tell them. They sound really nice, so why don't you give them a try and tell them? It's hard to take the resources people give us and really talk to people or call them at three in the morning with an issue, but if they've offered themselves to you it usually means they would love to help you.
Try sleeping at night, because then you'll be able to get up earlier and get more done in your day without feeling tired at all. It may be a change and it may be hard to fall asleep early. The trick is to get up early and do a lot of stuff, and instead of pushing yourself to stay up late, just sleep. Try eating your dinner and then not munching, just having water or a light snack if you really need to. Settle into bed and read a book with the lights dimmed. When you start to feel tired, finish the chapter or something and lay down. Even if it takes a little bit to fall asleep, soon enough it'll become a custom and you'll fall asleep quicker. Hopefully that will take away the threat of long nights.
I face the same thing, because I stay up almost all night on weekends and that's when my self harm occurs mostly, except that during the day I'm a noticable, high speed roller coaster as well. I can't control my emotions so I force myself to supress them which results in the cutting at night because I can't handle the influx of thoughts in my mind.
I hope it all works for you. You can aim me and talk to me too if you need to (PM works as well).
