Boxers under swim trunks?

So, around where i live its becoming very common for guys to have boxers on underneath their swim trunks/board shorts and i was wondering if anyone on VT does it, or if they prefer to just go commando in their trunks. I have always gone commando under mine, so I was just wondering?

its kind of half and half. some guys wear boxers with their swim suits and some dont. a lot of guys like to have their boxers show so that they are less likely to be pantsed. I almost always wear nothing under my swimsuit. sometimes i wear my breifs to keep my boner from being to obvious with the wet swimsuit but not very often. i dont really care about pantsing either cause even if tehy pants you boxers arent going to do much cause if tehy know you are wearing boxers its easy to grab both the swimsuit and the boxers and pull them both down. so either way your not getting much protection. so i would rather just be comfortable while i swim and for me that is without anything but the swimsuit.

The question specifically referred to "swimming trunks" which is a term not used much over here these days but really means speedos, so you wouldnt wear anything under those. Swimming trunks or shorts are generally designed to be the only thing that you wear when swimming. Most public pools wouldnt let you in the water if they knew you were wearing anything else. In France some pools dont allow any form of shorts, you have to wear speedo-type trunks.

So do you wear the same boxers in the pool as when you get out - wouldnt that mean you had to go home with soaking wet boxers still on ? Seems a strange thing to do.

I go total commando. The board shorts I wear has a velcro /button type of closure in front so never worried about them getting yanked down and if I am around friends and they are yanked down it would be a big deal since I see them all the time in gym class.

just clarifying, swimming trunks are board shorts? if so, I wear speedoes or underwear (I wear briefs) under them... going commando could be awkward for dacking reasons and, people could see up the leg. However if you mean like speedoes being swimming trunks, I wouldn't wear anything underneath.

This is a very strange concept...

The idea of swimming trunks (be it speedos or longer) is that they are the ONLY thing you wear in the pool. In our local pools you aren't allowed in with anything else on for hygene reasons.

Also, surely that means that you either enter the pool with boxers that have been on you all day, or change them before. Either way you have to change them afterwards... so you're going to be naked at some point!

This is uber common in new zealand I'd say that probably 90% of boys over 11 would do this here. We never used to but people do now. I think its cause everyone is so self conscious about their dicks. I personally don't, I think its gross to wear the underpants you wore all day swimming. But thats just me=)

I've never worn boxers underneath my swimming trunks. I'd never even thought of doing that until I saw this thread.

I can't beleive that people have never heard of this.

I do it all the time in fact, i haven't gone commando since 5th grade.

It's very common in the states, where i am from, and almost every teenager does it. Plus, there is the added benefit of having a backup if you are pansted, which, with teenage guys is very common.

The only downside is that you waste the underwear that you were wearing for the day.

Oh, and Nick said that boxers were longer than the swimming trunks, but in America swimming trunks usually go to the knees or just above.

This is really weird for me. I have never heard of people wearing boxers under swimming shorts/trunks :P in the UK i think its almost never done, we're all about going commando over here ;)

Its not really going commando.
Swim trunks were made to be only worn as swim trunks.
Before board shorts, they even had the mesh to keep things modest.
Now everyone wears boardshorts and I can kinda see why some would wear boxers...but it still baffles me.

Who on earth wears anything underneath swimming trunks? Maybe they mean something different in the states. You couldnt wear boxers under swimming trunks because boxers are bigger, you would look like superman with his underpants on top.

Anyway how can not wearing something under a swimming costume be described as "going commando"? Thats like asking "do you go commando in your underwear".

I was thinking this, but then again it doesn't seem like to bad of an idea I suppose, helps to hide a boner etc
