I just got this error
http://i790.photobucket.com/albums/yy183/InsanityLive4ever/wtf.jpg

Windows media player does not exist now?...

A few months ago the computer was constantly errors in that area, but after removing several viruses and trojans it stopped.

Anyone know what's wrong?
(no comment on the name of my flashdrive)

...I also can't keep microsoft word up for more than a minute before it gives the "Winword.exe has stopped working" Which sucks, because I'm supposed to be finishing an essay...

God, this vista sucks

id say if you have that much problems with your computer
whipe out your whole hard drive onto a disk
replace windows media then put the music from the disk to your computer
install Microsoft word again then put averything else back on

Did you recently delete some stuff from your computer to make up space or something. That could be it.

No.. Yesterday my dad was bitching that AVG is down though

Also WMP is about as easy to accidentally delete as IE (which is installed as a 'core program' or w/e so it really can't be uninstalled without knowing exactly what you're doing)

I say system restore... to when you first got it.
Copy and programs and files onto a hard drive and wipe away.

If you're getting a shit load of errors it's time to back up and reformat tbh.

Are you sure you got rid of all the bugs? It might be a good idea to download a few extra anti virus programs just in case. If all the virus's are gone, its possible that they had infected some of the main files word and media player needed for them to work and were removed with them. If this is the case try re installing them, if that fails, then as Andy said a reformat might be a good idea.

The only thing I would suggest is to do what Andy said: Back up and reformat. Do you have a spare external HDD lying around anywhere? If so, get all your important things on there and reformat your hard drive. I had to do this a few months ago because I got the same error. It seemed to work for a few days, but after that it continued. If this happens, I'd go with a system restore since this worked for me. Haven't got an error for WMP since.

most of the time is nothing else fixes a problem, reinstalling the operating system works.
Also looking at the word file icon, it looks likes its a older version of microsoft office and vista has serious capibility problems.

Your hard drive could be dying. My old laptop started getting the same problems, then the hard drive corrupted, then completely died. I would backup everything now, just to be on the safe side. My laptop was XP, but looks like the same thing.

you said you're using avg? that's not good, you should change to Avira antivirus http://download.cnet.com/Avira-AntiVir-Personal-Free-Antivirus/3000-2239_4-10322935.html. I used to have avg, and i got multiple viruses anyway and it ended up that the system file got corrupted and it would stay at the login screen forever after entering my password. oh, and i was using xp, but now i have 7 on it and it's working fine. so yeah, reinstall word(if you can) and wmp.

It's really time for you to consider a reformat and re-installation of OS my friend. Do remember to backup all your important files and data before doing that to your C drive. :)

Avira doesn't like my computer.. and it didn't before this problems started

Eh, mom's getting a guy in to see what he can do...and is still blaiming me, even though it's been a very long time since I've downloaded anything

some people have suggested system restoring - these people are dumb. Get an inexpensive portable HDD transfer all essential files to it then format.

Try a system restore. You could gave a virus or a Trojan horse. A Trojan will most likely do that stuff. You should scan it just in case or run in safe mode to see how it goes. If it's just bugs have a system restore or upgrade to a better os like mac os x snow leopard or windows 7 (better than vista) vista has a bunch of bugs that Microsoft failed to fix

System restore is very unlikeleyy to fix this. I hve it switched off on all my computers as its a complete waste of time.

Like I said before. Back-up your files, buy/download windows 7 and install that (not upgrade, a clean install.)

Or the update patch that came out in june..

The tech guy just left, he said that was probably the problem and it was just compounded by a few thigns of spyware...

God, I hope he was right..
