View Full Version : Life's OVER.

Nobody ever wants to have their entire life to end before they've had the chance to live. As kids, we always thought we'd live forever. Grow up, go to college, fall in love, meet new people, maybe get married& have kids, eventually grow old with someone we love& just have a LIFE. No one ever wants to die, whether they're 2yrs old, or 90yrs old. It's never what we want. But what if the time came& you were told you only had a certain amount of time to do everything you've ever wanted? What if you got the call that.. you only had 6 months to live, or maybe a year or 2? What would you want to do? Would you continue living your life as if nothing ever happened& tell no one that you only had a short time left, or would you tell everyone you knew so you could take the time to tell them things you never said& really wish you had sooner?
Growing up, I always thought.. “Hey, I'm young. I have my entire life to live yet. I have years to do the things I want, I don't have to do them now.” But, that's not the case anymore. There's things I wish I had done when I had the chance now, because I know now, I probably never will be able to. Being 18 is apparently long enough to live, I now realize.. I don't have my entire life to live anymore, I have a limited amount of time to do everything I want in life& most things.. I'll never get to. But, no one ever said LIFE was fair.
In fact.. it's very painful.

Hey Kaci - I'm sorry I haven't talked to you lately. Please let me know what's going on. I was in the hospital for a while and had some stuff going on at home. Text me or get on AIM. Hugs Princess!

The truth is, I wouldn't do anything differently. Perhaps adopt a more carefree approach to daily living, but going about routines as usual - because that is life. I do not fear or shun the thought of death, for I believe that it is just another form of existence, that could be just as interesting as the present one.
There's things I wish I had done when I had the chance now, because I know now, I probably never will be able to.
I know this feeling well. Many things in life are now or never, but that in itself is not bothersome to me, because it is this nature that truly teaches one to be grateful. At least, one will always be able to hold significances close to heart - the greatest tragedy, is not an unfulfilled dream, but rather losing the want for its fulfillment.
Whether or not these experiences ever do happen in reality is irrelevant, as long as one believed genuinely that it will - then it already has, within the mind and soul. Admiration of an experience is part of the experience.
But, no one ever said LIFE was fair.
Everyone is different, thus different situations, different perceptions of what 'fair' is. But I truly believe that life is fair, because our struggles and limitations as a species are largely the same, although they appear to manifest in different ways. We seek fulfillment, but true and complete fulfillment is not possible; we seek to understand, but all our intelligence seems to falter in the face of certain issues; we wish for certain experiences to last, despite knowing full well that everything inevitably changes.
Nothing is ever easy - the contrast brought by difficulty is necessary to maintain our awareness of 'easiness'.

Oh god. I thought from the title that this was going to be a horribly depressing thread about how much your life sucks. I got all warmed up to bitch at you too. Damn you.
I agree, which is why I'm 2 years ahead of anyone else my age really, and why as soon as I'm out of college I want to start doing stuff I've wanted to do forever.

Yeah that's a good idea. I'd like to do that, but at the minute I'm a little too afraid to do anything.

I think that you can do whatever you'd like if you set your mind to it.
Just try it.
