Honestly...this thread is difficult.

I just say I feel a lot of different emotions by songs. Most songs I listen to are depressing to most people, but whatever. I have my fair share of happy music too :) Also got some stuff that just sends your mind on an acid trip.

It's kind of hard to say, sometimes the emotions I feel from a song depend on my mood. If I'm in a sad mood, and an exciting song comes on, I probably won't feel the same as if I were already in an excited mood.

But "It's Hard Letting You Go" by Bon Jovi is sad and meaningful for me, because it reminds me of my late Grandpa. :(

Isn't the whole idea of music to make you feel something? I'm sorry, but if you don't feel anything listening to something, then it's not really good music.

Ok, I have many favorite songs, but the most emotional one i have heard in a long time has to be "Look Through My Eyes" by Phil Collins. Not my normal type of music, but i can't help but be overwhelmed every time i hear it, and that is an understatement.

Song: "Look Through My Eyes" by Phil Collins
Emotions: So many at once, its hard to list, but all are great

Do you like Phil Collins? I've been a big Genesis fan ever since the release of their 1980 album, Duke. Before that, I really didn't understand any of their work. Too artsy, too intellectual. It was on Duke where Phil Collins' presence became more apparent. I think Invisible Touch was the group's undisputed masterpiece. It's an epic meditation on intangibility. At the same time, it deepens and enriches the meaning of the preceding three albums. Listen to the brilliant ensemble playing of Banks, Collins and Rutherford. You can practically hear every nuance of every instrument. In terms of lyrical craftsmanship, the sheer songwriting, this album hits a new peak of professionalism. Take the lyrics to Land of Confusion. In this song, Phil Collins addresses the problems of abusive political authority. In Too Deep is the most moving pop song of the 1980s, about monogamy and commitment. The song is extremely uplifting. Their lyrics are as positive and affirmative as anything I've heard in rock. Phil Collins' solo career seems to be more commercial and therefore more satisfying, in a narrower way. Especially songs like In the Air Tonight and Against All Odds. But I also think Phil Collins works best within the confines of the group, than as a solo artist, and I stress the word artist. This is Sussudio, a great, great song, a personal favorite.

I honestly find this one of the most difficult threads to respond to.

"Hearts Burst Into Fire" by Bullet For My Valentine makes me think of all the people in my life I have loved, and then they abandoned me.
"Killing In The Name Of" by Rage Against the Machine makes me wanna punch a small child.
"Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic" by The Police makes me wanna dance :P

SONG THAT MAKES ME HAPPY: "Special Fred" - Stephen Lynch

I said that a while back, so yeah, i agree.

Music is supposed to give you a certain emotion, color, feeling, image, and yadda yadda yah. If you can't get that from a piece of music, then I classify it as shit.

imagine by John Lennon as it has such a powerfull message behind it, and its music at its finest, its real music. Its not this music we currently have flooding the radio with these annoying beats and singers who cant sing. I cant even listen to the radio or watch the music channels anymore, its getting rediculous. R.I.P John Lennon, legend is a massive understatment to describe you, a truley incredible human being
