Crush: An intense interpersonal attraction.
I have never understood conventional interpretations of the term myself, as I do not experience sexual attraction - only intellectual.
Emotions are very abstract and subjective matters; there is really no single 'correct answer' to what such concepts mean. It is whatever you perceive it to be.

I agree with Krezlyn. I'm not exactly sure what it means either... but if I had to guess. It would mean having a strong emotional attachment to them. You care for them greatly, and perhaps you want to show it in some form? Liking someone doesn't always mean sexual attraction. Make sure you know the difference between a crush, and a lover.

Make sure you know the difference between a crush, and a lover.
A crush generally refers to unrequited and/or undisclosed attraction. A lover is requited.
As far as I know, there is no distinction of terminology between sexual and platonic interest at the unrequited stage.

I like "romantic candidate" and "platonic candidate" myself.

Well, one thing you could do is make a list of Pro's and Con's about either person? I'm not sure, just giving a tip off the top of my head
