What happens if I send in my xbox 360 halo 3 edition to Microsoft? Hello, as many others I have now began the terrible process of a red ring of death on my xbox 360 Halo 3 edition. I have heard stories of people sending in their 360s only to receive a completely new one. If I send in my xbox 360 Halo 3 edition, will I receive the Halo 3 edition in return or will I have wasted money and get a plain white one back?

My best advice is, give the technical support a call and ask them directly before you send it out.
Microsoft stopped selling the special edition ones, and usually the console you get shipped back has different serial numbers. Some I'm not sure but I think they would try to get you the special edition because you paid for it. And if for say they couldn't get you a special edition they would give you a black one.
For the repair process to be the fastest Microsoft will receive your console, check it out then send you another identical repaired console. By swapping out consoles time can be saved. The console you send will be repaired then brought back up to factory standards (basically refurbishing). Then it will be shipped to someone else when it's time comes.
