Has anyone ever tried an Electronic cigarette? I saw a commercial for it and it seems pretty strange. Apparently there's no smoke, but it releases nicotine into your body.

I'm curious about them. Supposedly you can smoke them indoors because there's no smoke. My friend has some that plug into the usb ports in your pc. Don't know which kinds those are.

the title of this thread made me giggle...

What are electronic cigarettes? And WHY are they so random? oh, also, Are they for robots? lol I've actually never heard of them.

If they're electronic then tenchincally there would be no smoke involved? Only nicotine? Well, in that case, I'm in favour of the idea. It's great for people who are trying to quit, especially (I think...)

However, I, personally would STILL never use one, even though theres no smoke involved.

I am interested in these if they could help me quit. They sound awfully similar to the ones you can already get but electronic.

I've seen these, I dont smoke but I was looking at them for Ben. If we are talking about the same thing then yes, they have the nicotine but not all the other bad crap. They also dont give off smoke but water vapor and thats why they are allowed inside. If I remember right they are expensive and you have tp be 18.

i think they'll have a hard time simulating the effect of an actual cigarette. i mean, yeah, part of the addiction is simply you needing to do something with your hands. but the majority of it is the nicotine.. mmm. if they can do it properly, i'd be suprised.

I never felt the need to have something in my hands, just the nicotine its self. But it is probably different for everyone.

the only reason i said that was because most of the smokers i know say that part of the addiction is needing to do something with their hands. but like you said, everyone's different. for me it's the nicotine too. i don't have a problem with the hands thing. haha

I've seen something similar, I think it was by Nicorette. Instead of the patches, it's an inhaler so you do the same hand actions as you would when smoking just no smoke gets released. I'm not sure if this is what you mean or not though as I don't think these need to be plugged into an electric outlet but I have only seen them on ads, haven't looked in any more detail.
