My Dreams... :/

I've always wanted to be a vet. From since I can remember I've pretended to do surgery on my stuffies and make them better. This dream's been seeming even farther away since I started failing grade 8.

I'm home schooled and to be honest it worked in the beginning. Then the constant repetition made me lazy and I just stopped working. In December I got found out by my mom and teachers and I had to try and catch up. I caught up in my LA, some Social and Science, but Math I'm still at square one.

I need to have top grades in Science and Math to even consider applying for a decent school with animal science. I know my dream is insane, but I can see myself helping animals. I can't understand the content of Math which is extremely annoying as I used to be able to grasp concepts like that.*snaps fingers* This is more of me venting, but if you think you can give me a tip, by all means, please post.

Hey, I'm planning on going to medical school, and medical and vet school admissions are qiute similar so I think I can help you here.

First off, have you considered going to a "community college" for 2 years, getting top grades there and then transfering to a good school? I'll check back for more in a bit

Yes I have. This is a far bit in the future but I want a decent record to go along with me without going to a community college. As is I'm going to be looking at 6 or so years already as I need medical and vet knowledge.

Looking a little better in the math bit, and my teachers are prodding me along.

Another obstacle however. My mother. She knows I want to do this and she knows I hate being pushed into things. However she is pushing me into becoming a vet :/ I'll handle her, but well may not be on VT for a time.

Some colleges have math and science courses you can take. I'm not that good at math either.

You're only thirteen so dont think so negatively. You have plenty time to boost your grades up. If you really want something then you will work hard to get it. You could try putting up a poster of a vet helping an animal beside your study area to motivate you OR write what grades you need to get and stick that on your wall. Dont stress yourself. You have time.

Jeez, I didn't see you are 13. PLEASE for your own sake, stop worrying so much about grad school at your age. Have fun, see friends, get in trouble, have boyfriends. The time will come soon enough that you'll have to start worrying about this stuff, but not now.

Also what math are you in right now?

1)I'm not going to stop worrying about grad. It's important to me.

2) I'm not sure which math, it's grade 8 math so I dunno

3) I'm going to look into that August.

4) I have a vet poster up and my grades that I wanted for this year
