I was wondering why everyone is so worried about what everyone else thinks of them?
I have just been reading this THREAD (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/showthread.php?p=753470#post753470) about people being homophobic. but then some people talk about being scared about being gay.... and yea i am scared too but I dont really understand why.
I know that I have a great family and we are really really close and they help me alot lol. YET I am still scared of friends knowing that I am gay etc... and IDK why!

I think that you should have the right to be who you are! We are all diffrent, the world would be boring if we were the same!

So my questions are:
- Why do you think we are so scared of what our sexuality is?
- Why are we scared of what other people think of the way we dress and basicly everything we do or don't do?

(I wasnt sure where to ask this -sorry if its in the wrong thread!)

I think it all boils down to social acceptance. We want to be accepted socially (even if we claim to not care) so insecurity and uncertainty as to whether revealing a different sexual orientation, religion etc would lead to continued acceptance or rejection causes us to fear others reactions.

At least, that's what I think.
