tna has the ability to become a seriouse threat to the wwe. the introduction of hulk hogan and eric bishcoff is a real boost to the product. they have bassicly come in and said we are starting again. hogan has replaced the rediculous six sided ring with the traditional 4 sided ring, and a proper ramp, and improved titon tron.
hogan has also recruited some big name superstars into the company, that along with some big names currently on the tna roster, alongside some bright looking up and coming superstars, tna is begining to take shape.
the first show with hogan and bishoff has shown what they have started to put into place. New rivalries, improved story lines and also a brand new arena.
the main concern i have with tna is the way they conduct the matches, i think the commentators are poor, and a match taking place in tna without someone interfearing is becoming rare.
after almost every match, at least 1-3 people come running in, its almost as if they dont trust that the superstars competing will put on a great enough match in order to please the fans, so they just throw in some interuptions, that i believe has to stop.
theres no doubt wwe is still the number 1 brand, you can tell just by looking at it. its extremely proffessional, the arena is stunning, the lighting, camera work and commentry is of the highest standard , and solid script writting and story lines is what i believe makes wwe number 1.
tna need to work on those components in order to really become a sever threat to the wwe, work on the story lines keep improving the arena and its lighting, because it allways looks really dark and dull in the impact zone, also camera work needs improving .
the talent in tna is deffinetly there, and with hogans knowlage you know hes going to put it to good use. The move to monday nights was brilliant on his part, replacing the six sided ring, modifieng the entrance is helping it to look so much more proffessional, and more changes on the way all i can say is let the battle begin.

Ahhh. Wrestling. But to be honest with you, it all sucks nowadays. I loved WWE/WWF around 1997-2003, it got all crappy after. The Rock, Stone Cold, and so many others were legends.
WWE has a LOT more money than TNA, so like you said, that's why the quality is generally better. I'm under the impression TNA barely scrapes it. But neither of them hold my interest.

What I've highlighted in bold, is exactly what I agree with 100%, I also loved the attitude era. WWE has many more big names, more TV deals worldwide, more PPV revenue buys, worldwide marketing links, worldwide merchandise sales, etc, etc. The monday night wars were certainly interesting in the late 90s/early 00s, but TNA appear to be signing very little new talent, which isn't bad. They're all names that have either failed WWE drug tests, been released from the WWE or have retired in the past few years. Which is explains why there's a few of WCW's old roster on board with TNA, or people that will do anything for money (ie. Hogan, Eric Bischoff) in the company.
I haven't really been much of a wrestling fan, even followed regularly since say 2005, I started watching in 1997, wrestling simply for me isn't what it used to be. I grew up, but more importantly, the industry seemed to change a lot. The monday night wars were one of the best things to happen to professionally wrestling in those days, simply because it made each company push itself to the limits in terms of what variety of entertainment they'd offer and the extreme lengths they'd go to, to win the ratings war.
I could probably write pages, I used to be one of the most passionate wrestling fans you'd meet (years ago, up until about 03 - even at a young age), but all in all - I don't believe TNA will really be able to compete with the WWE, however, they've done nothing but improve over time. So in time, you never know. I do know however that right now (and for quite a long time infact) TNA has been putting out a much better product in terms of pure wrestling compared to the WWE. Time will be the biggest indicator I'm sure, TNA has a very good roster and puts on the better matches normally, but that can only go so far if nobody watches the show in the first place.

i do agree with you on a fair few things in which you wrote. i do believe that the attitude era along with the monday night wars was wrestling at its finest. With huge names like the rock, austin, taker , michaels, the game it was impossible to look away.
the comment about hogan being there for the money is partly true, he lost alot in his divorce, and people bag him all the time saying hes to old he needs to give up. But he was along side vince through the 80s and 90s they worked with each other to make the wwe what it is today, so hogan certainly knows what hes doing, hes a very smart man
also hogan bought the rights to his gimmck hulk hogan from vince early in his career in order to keep using anywere else that he might appear. i do believe hogan along with bishcoff will be able to create a smooth running exciting new tna brand that will be able to compete with wwe.
wwe will always have the money, the ppvs and the tv coverage, but i believe tna put on some fine class matches and have arguably the greatest in ring performer in the business today, kurt angle. hogans made some great big changes, all posotive and improving the company in my view, and some more on the way time will tell how the rivalr unfolds between the two brands

Hogan's a smart man, as is Bischoff. It's a shame they don't have Paul Heyman working over at TNA too, he's a very smart man when it comes to booking events and storylines etc. Underated backstage talent right there. At the end of the day with Hulk, fan or not, he's only trying to make a living, regardless of whether he's past his prime.

They are more likely to ruin it.
It's become WWE lite. They steal all their wrestlers and have horrible storylines.
Sorry, I'd rather not watch WWE on crack (TNA).

I'm a die hard MMA fan, I fucking hope we don't have any pussy soccer players come into the sport. Credit to Herschel Walker though, I have a lot of respect for him making his MMA debut last night in Strikeforce and winning showing off good all round skills. He even donated his fight purse to charity, respect.
