I just reported my younger cousin on facebook.
The reason why?
Because she is under the age limit to use facebook.
I have a few family members that would be mad if they found out I did this but I think I did the right thing even if it does make me feel guilty.

You obvioulsy care for your cousin if you'd report her. So Good on your part for protecting her, there are many young people who don't know how to use the internet wisely, and can get themselves into trouble.

Why would they be mad? Rules are rules. If they find, out explain that to them.

You did the right thing. Rules are rules and one must follow them. If they find out and go to you, explain to them why you did. They shouldn't hate you for following rules, rather proud that you did the right thing. Once again, good job for having proper judgment.

I don't think you've given enough information. Yes, rules are rules, but was she being inappropriate on her facebook account and sharing private details publicly or was she properly supervised. A lot of young people now use the internet, and rules need some serious updating. For example, my youngest sister aged 7 uses the internet, she plays all these games, and she is always supervised, and everytime she comes off the computer, it's checked to make sure she hasn't been making with friends with random people. The settings make it impossible for her to do any real damage and we've always been quite open to her just about how careful she is. One day, in the near future perhaps since she is going on about it, we might allow her to have a facebook account. It would be controlled, privacy settings set and she would only be allowed to have family and close friends on her facebook and she won't have access to the password so she can't go on without asking. She isn't going to get one for a few years yet, but when the time comes she will still most likely be underage, but it will be safe.
So, back on track, if your cousin was using it inappropriately and it was in her best interests that she be cut off, I understand. However, if the only problem was that she was under-age, I think you have been quite pathetic about the situation. Also, was she using her own facebook account or an adults?
But since i don't know, I can't judge.

Yes, if she was being inappropriate there, kudos on your part. But, for example, my sister is 9, she is on Facebook but only uses to talk with her friends and to use apps, like FarmVille or others.

You're helping to protect her, thats all. I think that makes you a better cousin. It shows that you really care for her.
