I was just wondering why i need to have 25 post to be able to send private messages now. If you have any ideas let me know.

My guess would be so pedos can't message people without a nice hassle first.

Probably because a lot of the newer members just sent out random messages to people, asking for pictures and crap

Pedos are just unevolved trolls anyway. So in a way he's right.

We put in that requirement for PMing because of the amount of people abusing the PM system with inappropriate content. The majority of the ones who abuse it are people who don't post at all usually, therefore a 25 post minimum requirement.

Remarkably coincidental timing, but a very useful and effective change nonetheless.

It's so the members can get to know the newbies (like me) before they send out PM's.

Agreed, they always complain about things they've brought upon themselves.

No. It's for all the other reasons already posted. To be fair, the 'members' (as in with more than 25 posts) don't pay any attention to people... they just post and disappear. Unless you post in Twpr, Arcade or Rotw.

The majority of forums do this now to prevent spamming and unwelcome new members (ie trolls, spammers etc), if someone is to stick around they will earn the privilege.

Straight from the noob's mouth...that's saying something

I smell smoke...did someone just get burned?

I would say it is more than likely pedophiles asking for cam requests or pictures. The 25 post rule is actually pretty good. It gives the new members something to work for. It's a hassle alone just to get twenty-five posts. But seeing as how noobs are noobs...spamming is their game.

Me senses a link between pointless new threads and reaching the 25 post count.. Hmmm.
