Hi. This is my first post and I came here through veiwing a forum on anorexia.

Up until October, I ate whatever I wanted and was around 103 pounds. But I started becoming obbessive on calories and working out. I go to the gym everyday and run and do weights, almost to the point where I'm so exhausted I almost fall asleep on the machine.
With calories, I started creating plans on my calory intake, and now eat about 600- 700 a day, sometimes only 300 on weekends. I need at least 1,200 a day. I've started to cut back even more on food and my friends and family are starting to notice.
I'm 14 years old, 5'4, and 96 pounds, with a bmi of 16.5, which is considered underweight.
Could this turn into, or is it already, anorexia?

You're on the path to anorexia if this keeps up, if you're not already tbh. Now that you are underweight, you should just work on gainig weight to become your right weight for your age/sex.

By the way, though, anorexia is not just an eating disorder, it's a mental disorder too. Do you feel you HAVE to be losing weight? Do you think you are fat? I know people say this all the time, but at 96 lbs and 5'4" you're not fat at all. You're the very oppposite, and your BMI says so.

It's good you want to be in control of your weight, but losing it any more isn't controlling it, it's controlling you. So yeah, exercise and eat healthily as always, but don't over-do it, and you should treat yourself to a few snacks or your other favourite meal. It will only do you good. You need more caloriesssss.

Please do not end up being sectioned by the authories. They won't leave you alone. They will force you to eat, because this is where extreme anorexia leads to. It's no longer about losing a bit of weight anymore, it's about life or death.

It's a very sad illness. You must take action and do something about it. You should never ever eat less than 1000 calories a day. As to not alarm yourself, you should up your intake to 1500. Please take care, the effects of the illness are truly devastating.

Do you have any other issues apart from needing to control your intake? family problems, stress etc
