Flotsam

A mighty bough
once proudly bore
the weight of many branches.

By craftsman's hands
transformed, reshaped
and fashioned to a new purpose.

How many lives
were carried by this trusty bough,
so strong, immense and true.

Until that fateful day
when crushed upon the rocks
it broke in many pieces.

At last washed up
upon some lonely shore
at flotsam disregarded.
