January 15th, 2010, 12:28 PM
No im not, but you have to understand why other people are. That's just the way they were brought up. They were told by their parents that being gay is sick and so that's what they believe now. Even though I don't understand why people hate someone over something they can't change.

haibekah
January 15th, 2010, 12:53 PM
there's nothing to be afraid of. i think people take their beliefs to extremes though. a person is still a person, they shouldn't be judged by what gender they prefer.
but some people believe that it's wrong, but that doesn't give them the right to be rude, hate or any of that stuff. we're all people and we don't have the right to judge.
personally i am not homophobic. it's your life. do what you want!

Never have been, never will. I find homosexuals the exact same as heterosexuals, never really noticed a difference between the two. Very open minded.

No, I do not have an irrational fear of homosexuals/homosexuality.
I do not dislike/hate anybody because of what sex they think is hot.
I am neither insecure nor full of myself enough to think that every single gay man in the world wants to do me as soon as he sees me.

No, but I like manly men. Like, you can't tell they're gay unless they tell you. That crossdressing *and campness* puts me off *most times*.Only time I scare myself is this morning. HEAVY drinking session last night, might get into trouble... oh, and the possibility that i punched my best friend when he's getting off with a girl for that reason. *that's besides the point, but hey*

I'm not afraid, I just think that some gay people could tone it down some. There's no problem with someone being gay, but it's not needed when you broadcast it 24/7.

January 18th, 2010, 10:20 PM
No. For two reasons
1) I'm bisexual. Therefore being afraid of myself for liking both genders, is really irrational. I have other irrational fears but not this one.
2) Some of my favorite memories is hanging out with some furries and then gaming with all my gay friends. *shrug* Why be afraid of something you grew up with?

You shouldnt be scared at all. You have to be who you are. It is so wrong that people like you, everyone on this thread and me (gay, bi, lesbian, trasexual........... people) feel scared its just not right! I am scared a bit too but now i am comming out to family and friends etc.. it is getting easier!
To give some advice:
- Always stay strong!
- Always smile and never get upset with people calling you names!
- Be proud of who you are
- Always keep you in your mind as "NUMBER 1" in your life!

Or the opposite sex for that matter.
People cannot help who they love.

in my environment the gays are stereotypically believed to be creepy and there are lots of gays where i live so thats y i used to be scared of them. i grew up with the stereotypes and so everytime i go out and see gays holding hands and kissing in a corner it just makes me shiver... but now after i found VT and posted this thread, then recieved your comments, the whole gay thing isnt as bad as i thought :D. so now everytime i go out and see these things i feel happy for them

I'm straight, but I'm not homophobic. *nods*
Neways, I'm not any more, I was pretty much because of my whole upbringing as a child, it's hard to explain, but, its just how I was raised.
I pretty much, (during school holidays) spent 6 weeks thinking about absolutely everything I believe in personally.
Outcome of those 6 weeks:
- I'm not homophobic
- I don't go to the church my parents go to. (my own reasons)
- I managed to be a more open and emotion-ish person.
- I pay more attention to people, end of year resolution became to help my friends accept who they are, I have, and to help any problems they come across, anything they face. i want to be someone who's there for them. *nods*
And that's about it.
Sooo. I'm not homophobic anymore. Relatively good timing, one of my friends came out that he was Bi, I think he was anticipating me to come rofl-pwn him... :P
I didn't.

I am homophobic... but I REALLY dont want to offend people on here.. so i will keep my reason to myself... it's not a rant ... it's just highly offencive and politically incorrect.
I still have gay friends tho...BUT they my friends... i dont accept there decisions , but it's not for me to say
Human rights > homophobia... everyone has a right to be any sexuality they want to be.
