You should also think about the long term effects of something like this. Personally I would go for it, but I am just here to give advice. The decision is completely up to you. And if he is a good best friend, then he won't mind you telling him, "Sure let's go for it." or , "Nah man. I don't want to." If you have reservations then don't bother. It's not exactly a big deal, if you want to do it and feel comfortable then do it. If you feel that there's a strong chance something could go wrong or your friendship could be in jeopardy then don't. Simples.
