Ankle hurts while sitting down?

Okay so today at school my ankle randomly started hurting, I didn't fall or anything on it at all. I originally thought it was just from wearing hi top sneakers with ankle socks, but even after I took my shoes off it still hurts. I can walk on it fine, but when i sit down or stand still, it hurts. I have been icing it for about an hour and it seems to have gotten a little better, but I can't really tell. Does anybody know what the deal with this is?

You may have pulled a muscle. If you can run your hand down the back of your shin without it hurting, I have no idea what it is.

it can also happen if you have some new trainers ("sneakers" as the Americans say).

yeah they are new ( got em last week) and its been awhile since ive had high tops.

Thats why then! I am sure! I get it all the time when I get new ones. but it doesnt always come straight after i start using them!

okay thanks! It doesnt really hurt now...except when i think about it (which is hard not to) Hopefully it will be all gone my tommarow!
