Vista or Windows 7?

Long story short, my mum broke my acer extensa 5620 laptop this afternoon. Im looking to buy a new one, but im not sure whether to get vista or windows 7. What are your opinions on windows 7? is it better than vista, or is it too much of a big change? Thanks

Windows 7 by far. Much better than Vista; I'm not even sure if stores sell Vista any more?

Windows 7. Take it from someone who has Vista, Vista sucks. Half the programs you find on the internet aren't vista compatible and it has so many damn errors.

Ah jeff your still a mac at heart. And its no longer leopard in the lead, its snow leopard. :D But yes W7 wins over vista any day or night.

i've used vista, and it's not bad. but 7 completely demolishes vista. It's amazing. it's even better than xp(which i think is better than vista). so yeah, go with 7 if you can

The only problem with W7 is it's complicated to do anything. You can't just click once on anything, it's highlight this then click and then click the box then highlight some more... it's confusing, but better than Vista.

I tried Windows 7 at the computer store. It's very nice. I like it better than Vista. Both are tons better than XP though.

You always want to get the newest operating system, because the older one will be phased out sometime. Especially in Vista's case which was a nightmare for Microsoft and they want to move on as soon as possible.

So go for 7.

Totally Windows 7. Vista was absolutely terrible, it had a pretty design but that was about the only nice thing about it. Reason my laptop broke down and I didn't bother getting it fixed because I couldn't figure out how to downgrade it to XP...

Considering I'm not a computer g33k or something I wouldn't notice too much difference, but either OS. It doesn't matter, just as long as it does the job you want.

I've never had a problem with any of Windows' Operating Systems. 95, 98, ME, 2000, XP, Vista or 7.

I've used Windows 7 in the store, and it was much nicer than Vista, but don't have the money right now to get W7 :(

Windows 7 blows Vista out of the water in every way. Vista has hundreds of unfixed bugs too and even update loops forcing the OS not to boot ever again. Get Windows 7, you wont regret it.

Such an easy choice. Vista sucks I jad so many problems with it. It crashed 4 times a day! Windows 7 is worth buying (or getting free in an offer like i did :D)

in microsoft terms, windows 7. vista can just die. i dont think stores sell vista anymore. on a netbook maybe but they are usually xp.
