How many of you think that Joe Wilson was truthful when he yelled "you lie" to Obama at his speech about health care? I know that it was very disrespectful and people have a freedom of speech, but I was just curious to what other people's opinions were. Please no unintelligent comments.

Does freedom of speech not apply to all?

No, I would never agree. Would I go as far as to call him racist because he screamed it? No, but hes extremely disrespectful, and frankly I would have no issue with telling him that he shouldve kept his mouth shut.

How many of you think that Joe Wilson was right when he yelled "you lie" to Obama at his speech about health care?

He's an embarrassment. Agree or disagree, politics operates upon a certain level of decorum. If you can't operate with some respect in political discourse, go back to kindergarten.
Not to mention that he was also flat wrong on the point about which he accused Obama of lying. Embarrassing and incompetent, a sadly too-common combination in politics these days.

I don't care about freedom of speech, there are some things that you shouldn't say (especially in front of millions of people, on an international scale) to someone else.
I mean, these are morals and social taboos you should learn as an elementary schooler.
Even if Obama were a liar, I would just sit down and shut up while he spoke. It's called respect and Mr. Wilson and the rest of his party needs to learn that. Only reason I said rest of party is because I think this is how it went down:

The comments here are all true, there are some boundaries you should not cross when acting as a politican and a public figure and he crossed them.
Also as a fellow Christian I was pretty disgusted with his comments, although I may think them I would never say that about a republican in a public forum without substantial evidence and quite frankly a more dignified response than "you lie". I think universal healthcare is a right not a privellage and quite frankly Obama's plan does not go far enough.

Wilson should have kept his mouth shut, as the Republicans do not have any plans that are worth consideration in the first place. The Republicans, on balance, still believe that the current health care system is acceptable, which it most certainly is not. Of course, the Republicans are fine with the status quo; they cling to some faulty premise of conservatism (small c), favoring Bush 41 over Goldwater, true conservatism, while they are just fine with the corporations running an oligopoly over the health care system.
No, Wilson had no "right" to yell out to Obama over health care, as all his party does is blow pink smoke and pretend there is no problem. As far as I am concerned, both parties are two peas in a pod in regards to health care reform, and if it did not affect me so, I would be just as inclined to see them tear each other apart like the thieves that they are.
