The agony you suffer through
Each and everyday
Courses through my varicose veins;
This world we live in
Is a world full of pain.
Can't you see the sunlight
Is plain, the diagonal pane
Is transparent and when
You look through it the world
Seems brighter than can be.
But it ain't reality because
Come midnight the sun
Goes away and sometimes
The stars shine bright
But sometimes the night
Is just blank, black,
Complete
And utter darkness.
And when you can't see
You get this urge of chaos
Surging through your soul,
Overcoming you like a
Wave of disillusionment,
One hundred thousand marching soldiers
Marching across the terraform
That is your cerebral cortex.
In the night you want to close your eyes
And make the pain go away,
But when you can't see
You can't feel
And numbness isn't what you need
You need light,
You need to breathe
The cold, hard air
And realize that
That cold, hard stare
That he threw at you
Two evenings ago
Was meant to show you
What love truly is.
Don't forget that mites
Don't bite because they like
The taste of blood,
No mites bite because it's in their
Nature to make us spite
Them for what they are,
Because we have a tendency
To hate what we cannot understand,
We throw fire at the varmints
Because we want them to burn
Because they scare us
And to us
That just ain't right.
We hate pain
Because we live it everyday,
We hate life
Because life is so mundane,
Always the same,
An empty classroom
With no chalk
And no desire
To improve.
We hate light
Because it always disappears,
We hate darkness
Because it ain't light,
We hate
Because we can't understand.
We can't comprehend
Why the injured dog
Runs away from
The vet with the needle
That will rejuvenate it's senses,
Pushing it through the roof,
Shooting endorphins through
It's body,
Making it skyrocket from
Disdain
To happiness,
Borderline insane.
We hate
The murderers,
The corrupt politicians,
The clowns with scary masks,
Because we don't understand,
But we ourselves our hypocrites
Because with our own two hands
We ain't viceless
And we sure as hell ain't clean.
We hate
Because we ain't
What we think we're meant to be.
We hate
Because
We don't understand.
So every time
Your father lashes out at you
And you just want to cry
And take that razor to your arm
And maybe, just maybe DIE
Remember that this world we live in
Is a world not nice,
And the only fucking way
To fight that
Is to survive.
