Since flashchat is now pretty much gone, has there been any decision yet on the addon chat that was tested a month ago? I thought that the senior staff would have come to a decision now about it. Seeing as how flashchat is gone, I think that this one would work just as good if not better.

I totaly agree. I prefered that one to falsh chat personly
and I think it would work better.

I agree, I did prefer the one that was tested a while ago.
I also agree with Nick though, give it time. It's not like it's an integral part of the site.

Were all going to die without a chat room :P

Give it time, all good things come to those who wait. Im surprised that you didn't advertise the IRC channel even more.

Yes, yes, I'm being a doubting Thomas here. The only reason that the IRC channel isn't advertised that much is because it isn't official. I'd like to see that, and so do a few others. But, as said, we need to wait.

In Ant's Announcement:
I am currently working on figuring out a solution that can better accommodate VT's increased demands. A chat room will come back.

Thanks for your patience and I will keep you all updated.

So I am thinking that they dont have a version they will go with, and when they do, they will install it

If Ant's up for it, he can embed a Mibbit client INTO the forums, which would also link your forum username to it. (Yes I've seen it done before, and by speaking with the guy who did it, it's not that hard to pull off)
So your username would be your IRC nick.
Seems like a good way to use the IRC channel?

And with IRC being a WHOLE lot more stable, and since the chat /isn't/ actually getting routed through VT's server, there should be minimal load.
