Any of you heard their music? The Dixie Chicks are very high on the charts and a popular country group.

Three years ago they were invited to the presidents office. They declined and made a big stink. Everyone was rejecting their music. So they recently released a song called I'm Not Ready to Make Nice.

Here are the lyrics:

Forgive, sounds good.
Forget, I'm not sure I could.
They say time heals everything,
But I'm still waiting

I'm through, with doubt,
There's nothing left for me to figure out,
I've paid a price, and i'll keep paying

I'm not ready to make nice,
I'm not ready to back down,
I'm still mad as hell
And I don't have time
To go round and round and round
It's too late to make it right
I probably wouldn't if I could
Cause I'm mad as hell
Can't bring myself to do what it is
You think I should

I know you said
Why can't you just get over it,
It turned my whole world around
and i kind of like it

I made by bed, and I sleep like a baby,
With no regrets and I don't mind saying,
It's a sad sad story
That a mother will teach her daughter
that she ought to hate a perfect stranger.
And how in the world
Can the words that I said
Send somebody so over the edge
That they'd write me a letter
Saying that I better shut up and sing
Or my life will be over

I'm not ready to make nice,
I'm not ready to back down,
I'm still mad as hell
And I don't have time
To go round and round and round
It's too late to make it right
I probably wouldn't if I could
Cause I'm mad as hell
Can't bring myself to do what it is
You think I should

I'm not ready to make nice,
I'm not ready to back down,
I'm still mad as hell
And I don't have time
To go round and round and round
It's too late to make it right
I probably wouldn't if I could
Cause I'm mad as hell
Can't bring myself to do what it is
You think I should

Forgive, sounds good.
Forget, I'm not sure I could.
They say time heals everything,
But I'm still waiting

This is my favorite song. This song was produced to the fans. The fans didn't like how they dissed the president and they sent letters saying that they will kill them if they don't just sing. The music video is very powerful and their new album, Taking The Long Way [2006] is coming out tomarrow. I know country music is critisized alot but it has come a long way.

Well not many people are replying to this thread :P
Anyway yesterday I got their new CD. They rock : )
I think that people would like their music if they don't like much country.

I like Goodbye Earl, I just saw it on CMT. I love CMT : )

I bought their new album on the 3rd day it was out. Taking The Long Way is on THE TOP of the bill-boards. I started out as a Dixie Chicks fan about 2 months ago. I've heard that they've always been good, and what ever they had, they still got! This new album is the only album I have that I like all the songs on! I hope to get their first hit song, Wide Open Spaces. :cowboy:
