View Full Version : does Terri Schiavo have a right to live?

While Terri Schiavo has a right to live, I also think she has a right to die. her husband knows whats best for her, and when she told him she didnt want to be kept alive artificially, that should be the deciding factor. I am outraged that congress is trying to get in the way of a man who loves his wife and is trying to do the best thing for her. Do you think Terry has a right to die? Do you think the government has a right to intervene?

say you had became a vegatble because you ate so little to have a perfect figure that you blood pressure dropped and you became brain dead. now 15 years later you look like shit and you have no chance of coming back. with how obsesive she was about her image, would she really want to live like that? getting feed from a tube?

ya really, whats the point of living if you arent really alive? its one thing to be in a coma, cuz u have the chance of comming back. but if your permanently in a "persistive vegetative state", whats the point of being kept alive artificially when you can't even experience life?

There's absoultly no chance she'll recover. They should let her enter the afterlife or whatnot and move on with their lives.

Her husband has a girlfriend and two of her kids. He wants her dead.

But what is the point of keeping her alive? SHE didn't want to stay alive, there's 0% chance that she'll recover (unless she can do the impossible and regrow most of her brain), and he's just trying to move on. He stayed at her side for the first 4 years hoping, until he finally faced the truth that she wasn't coming back. At that point he started trying to let her pass on, but her parents are stubborn dumbasses and can't realize that it's literally IMPOSSIBLE for her to recover. Scans show that most of her brain is critically damaged, and some of it has literally disinegrated.

shes been in that state for 15 years...70% of her brain is gone, Honestly would u want to live life like that, brain dead. I think removing the feeding tube is a good thing, My pryaers are with her and her family, but she should die in peace. If that was her wish, let it be.

What bugs me is the children getting arrested for trying to help this Terri person. I just want to slap these parents, they raise their children to protest something before they even reach the age to understand. If the parents want to protest..fine, but leave the kids out of it. Don't have them do your dirty work.

yes she has the right to die no one should have to suffer the way she has been doing

so true, I understand that her parents want her to live, but its impossible for her to recover, after 15 years, come on. The law is just so interesting, because it is the husbands decison to take out or keep in the feeding tube, thats what happens when your married, your spouse could make the decision, it is no longer in the hands of her parents.
another thing i hear is that, he has found someone else, I dont believe that because he was by her side for 15 years while she was brain dead, thats what you call love.

Does anyone watch the O'rielly factor?? Good stuff. Anyways, Bill O'rielly said that the courts shouldn't intervein but he also said that terri's husband should hand over custody to the parents which i do not agree with. What those parents will do is keep her on a feeding tube till she rots and then some. Who would want to live like that? You brain is full of fluid and all you can move is your eyes. I mean come on. Its hopeless!! I think she should be allowed to die, but not by starvation and water deprevation. Thats just cruel. They should give her a leathal injection or something instead of makeing her suffer even if she is a veg.

those protesters are ignorant dumbasses too. do they realize that if they were to try to force feed her water and food, she would die faster. cause she cant chew or swollow or yell for help when she starts choking

She said she wanted to live though, even when she was so call ed "brain dead"...It was recorded on tape. She smiles whenever she sees her mother. I don't think that's what brain dead people do. I don't think brain dead people say they want to live, either.

That video is out of hundreds of hours of video they took. They jsut chose the time she happened to be smiling. It's coincidence
Plus catscans showed that 80% of her brain is dead, and 30% is pure liquid. It's impossible to recover from that...its impossible in the first place to grow new brain cells...

I think everyone should be entitled to Euphanasia, however that does leave space for evil action.
Example: Hitler.
