First he's frozen, now unregistered. How did this happen? I think an explanation needs to be provided for this.

A administrator most likely de-activated his account, to prevent him from logging in/using certain areas of the board.
To us, it shows as un-registered, because you *technically* aren't registered on the board until your account has been activated.
I do it on my board all the time.

Mhmm. Basically it's a lot like banning someone, but has a few differences I suppose.
We can't really discuss why, though; we don't make a habit of sharing why people were infracted/banned/whatever because it's not fair to them. If you have his contact info you can ask him yourself, but it's up to him if he wants to talk to you about it.
All you really need to know is that he's not coming back to VT.

I take it this is permanent rather than temporary then?

It looks like it. No big loss though really.

If you're going to bash somebody, do it to their face, not after they lose the ability to respond. It's rather cowardly and speaks a great deal about your character. Thanks.

I don't see how that's bashing...

You don't see that as bashing? really?
oh whatever, like it matters; much ado about nothing, I suppose

It's the equivalent of, "I won't miss him," is about how I read it.
Not a big deal.

I still think this deserves an explanation. I mean, Jared was a huge contributer to the site. You can't expect people to not ask questions about this.

If you want to know the reasons so badly, get his IM info and ask him yourself.

^^^Exactly what happened is between Jared and the staff and whoever he decides to tell.

We're being all authoritarianistic on this one me thinks.
Basically, the staff won't give a reason. As people have mentioned, if you want to find out, ask him yourself dude.

Exactly what I meant. Really, people do like to make a fuss over nothing!

You made it sound like no one cares. That's the vibe I got. But oh well. Each to their own.

That's because virtually every staff member hated him, they don't care.

Basically you're right Jeff. I personally care that he's gone, because he did have the balls to stand up for himself himself and what's right.

They didn't hate him. They had their disagreements. If you have that opinion, why didn't you state it earlier? Jared had his moments, but either way, he was generally pleasant.

9 out of 10 "disagreements" turn into forum drama. No doubt that some here hated Jared. I mean I did for a while, but we made ammends. I just think we deserve to know the reason why he was unregistered. Does staff really think he'd WANT to come back here and read it? For how well known Jared was, I think we need to know the reason why he is unregistered.

I disagree. He's gone and obviously not coming back, if he doesn't want the reason to be known, then respect that. It doesn't matter why.

I know I sure as the hell don't hate him, he's one of my best friends from here. If anyone on the staff hated him, they sure didn't show it and they didn't let their personal feelings get in the way.
What happened is now in the past and it's a sure shame to see one of the better members here gone after such a long time, but it's what happened and Jared has told me, Matt, that he doesn't want you or anyone else to pry into this matter any further. If you guys can understand that, it would be a sure help.

The staff didn't hate Jared most of us talked to him outside the forums without any kind of the VT drama. Also you guys don't deserve a reason because it has nothing to do with you people. This is between him and the staff and whoever he tells. So you can all stop saying that you need to know because it's not going to happen ever. We do NOT discuss why ANY member was disciplined we never have and we never will.

Ummm.... why? Are you him? Otherwise, I fail to see how it's of any concern to you other than random interest.

Just face it guys, the staff have never shared information about why bans have happened and this is and will be no exception. If you liked him that much I'm sure you'll have way to contact him and ask him yourself. Otherwise this thread is going nowhere.
