I am 14 and a strict Muslim living in America. Its against my religion to masturbate and abuse my body. When I was 12 and 13 I used to do it alot (3 or 4 a day) but this year I have tried to abstain to respect my beliefs. I get wet dreams but not really often enough. My testicals sometimes ache, prob from not jerking.
I live with my Mom and can't talk to her about this. I talked to my Imam, but he just said what Im feeling is natural. He sez I should try to stay active.
This is very hard for me. Please don't say I should ignore my religion. Its no joke. Anybody have an idea on dealing with the urges and aching testicals?

There's nothing you can do to abstain from the urges, it's a normal part of going through puberty and growing up. While it might be hard, keep your religious beliefs in mind and remember, if many other muslim teenagers can do it, so can you.

Take the Imam's advice. If masturbating is against your religion and you're serious about holding to that, you're going to need distractions. A healthy distraction, which varies depending on your interests. Something tiring perhaps like a sport, preferably one that meets more towards the evening. Martial Arts maybe, or Dance.
That way, ideally, you'll be physically worn enough to be able to sleep comfortably without thinking too much about your aches and urges, with the added bonus of a healthy activity to keep you fit. ;)

I agree with the others that you just have to get involved in some other activities to keep your mind off of sex. Bear in mind that you are 14 and are going through the strongest part of puberty making it hard not to think about sex. However, if you get involved in something like karate, an after school club, or some time consuming activity, then chances are you will tire yourself out and reduce your sexual thoughts. Whether you like it or not you will still have wet dreams due to your age, but as you get past puberty things won't be so hard. You are just going through a phase right now, and once the hormones are back to normal levels, then you will be fine. In the meantime just work on other things, and if a sexual thought does come up, then don't freak out. Just think of something else.
If you feel comfortable doing so, then I would ask your religious figure on how sexuality is handled in your religion and how other boys like you deal with their desires. I am sure at one point your religion must allow you to get sexual, and you probably should find out what it says about sexuality in totality rather than just looking at the prohibition on masturbation if such a prohibition does exist.

Pick up a hobby. Something particularly active (like a sport or exercise) would be great, since it can release the same good endorphins that masturbating would.

to further prevent you from masturbating you might want to make sure people are around you most of the time

find out why they do not approve of masturbating
He's a muslim. You would think he knows exactly why they disapprove of it in his religion. Seriously, that's some of the poorest advice I've heard on this forum yet.

Your religion iz your religion. I'm not saying ur relgion iz rong at all man I swear, but ur not hurting ur body, ur working with it. I mean if a religion said u couldn't fart 'cause it's rong....you know it's thuh same thing.
The achin' ballz? Believe it or not it's normal. :D

ok. well mine isnt exactly an answer to the question but i know that when i tried going with cumming for a while i felt the same aches. however as i got older and as you get older the body will start releasing the unused fluids into the bloodstream, (instead of wetdreams) to help get rid of the excess. its a lot easier to not notice the physiological reasons for wanting to jack off as you get older. but you still have the pleasure principle and random images of hot girls/guys to deal with.

The only way you'll avoid your testicles aching is to masturbate. Plain and simple.
The reason that they hurt at the moment is because they are continuing to produce sperm and it is not being released; it's not normal for this to happen. The only thing you can do is try to do anything to take your mind off of masturbating.
I know it goes against what you said, but my honest advice to you would be to say sod the religion; I'm sorry but anyone or anything which says that masturbating is 'bad' is quite frankly wrong imo.

I'm gonna give you two answers. One telling you to go by your religion, and one based off of being perfectly natural. Religion one goes first.
1. If you want to avoid masturbating, it's going to be EXTREMELY difficult. At your age, you've still got a long ways to go, and lots of thinking about sex. Try to always keep yourself in a room with other people. Get involved in an activity like basketball, soccer, football, golf, etc. An activity that goes almost daily. When you find yourself alone, do some math problems for about 15 minutes in your head to make arousal go away.
2. Masturbation is perfectly natural. There's nothing wrong with it at all, and our bodies are designed to do it. Your testicles hurt because your making semen and not getting rid of it. It's just sitting and waiting until you get a wet dream. I say continue to masturbate. It's healthy, burns energy, releases semen, and most of all, it feels good.

I feel the same way on this subject as when some Christians are troubled about being gay. For me the question comes down to whether you believe your God is against masturbation, or whether your God made you that way with a natural release mechanism but its a group of human clerics that seem to have a problem with it. Most of those Imams probably masturbated themselves at your age and are being hypocritical being against it now. You must go by what you feel is right for you, but if it makes your balls ache you must just put up with it.

Whoever -rep'd my last post in this thread with "do ou need to say that? maybe he isnt muslim" is an idiot. He said it in the first post so it's pretty well-established.

If that is the case, the just don't post.
Considered spamming if you contribute nothing.
I understand that your religion is important to you and I respect you wanting to honor that.
I think that you should follow his advice and try to stay active in other things.
Don't allow yourself to have the time to masturbate. If you are bored doing nothing, eventually you will want to. Stay active and busy.
It may be hard but it will be an ultimate test of your strength and faith if you are able to hold out.

I would ignore any advice that says "ignore your religion"... they clearly don't know when to let something like this lie.
I would take the advice of everyone that's said "take up a hobby". Try swimming, becasue it uses your whole body, you can go at your own pace and you don't need other people with you.

I agree with you, Adam. Take a hobby and keep your faith stronger than your urges.

The answer is whatever others have said: try to keep your mind busy with other things, like sport, hobbies, etc. And of course, since you are a man of faith, religion can help you to find strength to resist the urge.
As a side note, not every Muslim theologian consider that masturbation is forbidden - some see it as perfectly acceptable, while others consider it ok as long as it is to answer to the natural sexual needs. I'd suggest you to talk about it with other authorities than a single Imam, (re)read the sacred texts, and see how far your feelings and your beliefs can be conciliated - the richness of the Islamic message can't be reduced to the opinion of a single man, but needs to be studied carefully with a critical, open mind to fully understand it.

You want a serious answer? Castration. It is the only way to eliminate testosterone from your system and by extension sexual urges. Should be nothing new to a Muslim community. Muslims and tribals in Africa even mutilate female genitalia to make it impossible for women to experience pleasure during sex.
Isn't religion great? Let's fuck up our bodies so we can do what god wants!
god gave you bodies. god gave you sexual urges. god gave you the ability to relieve those urges. god doesn't what you to? Furthermore, why is god so concerned about what I do with my own dick? My your own business, thanks.
I mean seriously, who can even believe that shit? Religion is a joke and the sooner you stop buying into the god and faith insanity the better off you will be.

For people who have faith, religion is definitely not a joke - it is part of their culture, of their values, of themselves; you may not believe in religion yourself, but try to remember that for many people, it is an essential part of life - one can keep a critical eye over religious practices *and* stay respectful at the same time.
As for the "Should be nothing new to a Muslim community.": just as in any other large human group, there are a lot of very different ways the Quran is read and understood, and many ways to practice it. Just because some remote tribes associate barbaric practices with Islam doesn't mean every Muslim approve that or does the same, or even that it is "right" according to the sacred texts. Nobody would define the USA by the Ku Klux Klan alone, don't you think?
Please, people, try to understand other cultures, instead of constantly judging others from your *own* scale of values!

Please, people, try to understand other cultures, instead of constantly judging others from your *own* scale of values!I've been educated about the various world religions for twelve years, since I first began my education. I've studied every eastern religion, and know more about the dynamics of Christianity than anyone else on this forum, I would reckon. I have studied and measured faiths and found them all to be ludicrous. Because world religions affect how people act so dramatically, I can hardly stand by and not call something what it is simply because it might offend someone. It is a stupid belief to think that masturbation is wrong because some cosmic force told you so in some weird book.
If you want to take this to another thread I will argue the point to oblivion with you and expose any religion you want to be fake, ridiculous, and based on a basic human desire to be accepted by a group. Religious faith is a delusion, I am sorry to say, that many people buy into simply because it makes them feel good.
