Braces

I have braces on my top teeth and have had them since October. I know the average is 2 years and the minimum is about 1 year...but I swear my teeth are completely straight already. All my treatment was for was my canines. They were really high up, and I had two teeth taken out, and braces to bring the canines down into the gaps. But my canines are perfectly in place now, and all my teeth are in line.

Do I have to have them on for a while longer to 'retain' them, or (I'm guessing) is that what the retainer is for?

How long will I have to keep them on do you reckon?

personally i had mine on for about a year after they were COMPLETELY straight
i have no clue what your orthodontist wants
on your orthodontist knows
anyways
im guessing theres still treatment that needs to be done to make them "perfect"

now the only true way to know is by asking your orthodontist

Gah...I hate asking things like this, they'll just tell me I'm impatient or something :( XD

no apart of there job is to talk to you and tell how things are going
instead of straight up asking them when your getting them off, just ask how things are going and shaping up
