I think it would be nice to show like a top friends list. Or be able to control which friends were visable when someone were to view your profile. Because atm I have my favorite friends down near the bottom because I friend requested them first. But I have my random people who have no picture that i've made no contact with at the top because they were most recent.

I would like an option to organize your friends list as you see fit.

Its a good idea but its really not possible with how the software is developed. The way its coded it just shows 6 random friends every time the profile page is loaded.

If you don't want random people you haven't made contact with as your friends delete them as friends and reject their invitations ;)
I really don't think the friend thingy on here means much, because all it shows for a lot of people it seems is who has clicked "Befriend" on your profile.

I actually use the friends list to allow people I want to chat with to be able to message me, while blocking out all the unwanted 'Hey wanna chat?' messages.

That's your own fault for adding people that have no picture and you don't know. I did that at first, now I only have like 10 people that I actually like.

If you don't really understand, then that's sad.

making the friends feature stand out will make more people want more friends
choosing your top friends means that a lot of people will be like "well why am I not on it?"
Even so it's really not needed. I mean who really cares? Seriously? You should know if you're someone's good friend.

No having top friends means that you pick the people in YOUR friends list to be YOUR top friends how is that a popularity contest? All of it is for each member so each person will have different top friends. I'm not for or against the idea just saying that calling it a popularity contest makes no sense to me.

Don't see why we need this tbh.
And if you add random people as friends then you should be prepared for them to be visible on your profile.

I dont think its a good idea because some people would think that they should be on top of ones list (because they know them really well or because they think they "get" on well when really they dont), it could cause arguements, verbal abuse, etc... I dont think its a good idea and I also dont see why we need it.

I dont take the friends lists all that seriously really. I hardly ever turn down a friend request, I feel flattered that people should ask, but there are a lot of people that I never really hear from again afterwards.

It would be convenient to have "top friends" but then again it would be difficult not to hurt someone's feelings if they didnt make it onto the list so perhaps its just as well that we dont have this.

I do use the friends list as a kind of address book for pm-ing people on here, but thats about its only use realy.

I think this is a good idea. And who cares if it's myspace or not. The site needs something different for once. And if people keep complaining it will never happen. I like the top friends idea because I talk to people all the time and it tells WHO you actually talk to and what not and not just have random peeps add you.

*Sigh* YOU HAVE TO BE ABLE TO IMPLEMENT THESE IDEAS.

Why does everyone ignore Ant in these threads? These things don't magically pop up on websites. You have to code them and they have to be compatible with the current software. As Ant said, there's no way to add this function to VT with the way the software is developed.

Petition vBulletin to do something about this, not VT, because I don't think it's actually POSSIBLE to implement this.

It's not whether it's a good idea or not, it's whether it's PLAUSIBLE or not.

There's loads of people that childish on this site, you should know that lol.

I think this is a good idea. And who gives a damn if it's myspace or not. The site needs something different for once. And whoever is complaining it will never happen unless you got and idea. Post it and have everyone be negative. I like the top friends idea because I talk to people all the time and it tells WHO you actually talk to and what not and not just have random peeps add you.

If you want something different and more like MySpace, then go onto MySpace,

People ignore Ant because they still like to argue whether or not it's possible.
