Her baby’s cry was the lullaby she needed to get to sleep
So before they learned to shine baby’s blue eyes learned to weep
Drip drop, tick tock, they sang their song, the perfect melody
Drip drop, tick tock, all these years on, tears have begun to bleed

Fingernails and princess tales, sirens and screaming lies
Discarded notes, infantile hopes, but not once did baby cry
Counting down candles, blowing out time, it never seemed to stop
In the morning light, amongst the fight, hear the rain drip drop, drip drop

Baby grew, and baby knew, now was the time to fix this heart
So she found You, to be her superglue, but you only tore her apart
Confirmed her faith that she was the only one she would ever need
But once again, drip drop, tick tock, those tears began to bleed

Runaway to her only home after night began to fall
The only safety she’d ever known, embrace the coming freefall
Shivered spine, here comes the time, when all but fades to black
Clinging to the vainest of hopes, of never retuning back

Trapped and alone, her sole company reflected the fear in her eyes
As the metal rush, hush baby hush, reveals the scarlet prize
Left wasted and bruised, forgotten and used, all curled up in a ball
Drip drop, tick tock, see the crimson spots on the cold bathroom wall

Drip drop, tick tock, see the pathways crawl through her pale skin
Drip drop, tick tock, letting loose the secrets buried within
Drip drop, tick tock, oh how enchantingly beautiful it all appears
Drip drop, tick tock, oh faithful friend, the final scarlet tear

Urgh, so I wrote this some time last summer/autumn, idk. It disgusts me, really it does. I'm honestly not that pathetic. But yeah.. I found it tonight, and I just wanted to post it. Maybe then it will feel less sickeningly vile to me.

Rachel, that's one of the most powerful things I've read on here, thankyou so much for sharing it. *hugs and kisses* <3

Thanks Nick, it means a lot <3

Gah, I hate this poem so much though; I almost felt like crying reading it first time through. Like, I said I was over cutting, what, a couple of days ago? Then I read this, and realise I'm really really not. Maybe its just today.. idk. It just reminds me of what I miss, a lot more than I let on. /endpointlessbullshit.
