We all got our teacher recommendations today for high school next year, and I only got one Honors class, I feel like I could do at least 1 more Honors class, should I follow my gut or my teacher's recommendation? I know I can do Honors Biology and Honors World History, so I dont see why I was placed that way, have you all followed you recommendations?

I've always followed my recommendations... Which wasn't a good idea for my junior year... I'm taking three honors courses and two AP courses and I'm swamped with work...
If you think you can handle two honors courses, then go for it. If you're worried about the workload, then don't. In honors courses it's not who's smarter, it's who works harder. You have to be prepared to apply yourself to the class (this doesn't mean hours of dedication, it just means like thirty minutes of homework each night and a decent amount of study time for quizzes/tests [says the hypocrite who doesn't do his AP English homework or study for anything]).

lolwut. We don't get "reccomendations" here. At least not in my neck of Canada.

I'm in:
Chemistry H
English III H, shoulda been AP lol.
PreCalculus H
And find it to be fairly easy. It doesn't seem too overbearing.
I think two wouldn't be too difficult.

I'm only in one Honors class this year, but my science teacher wants me to head to Chemistry H next year.
Well, many honors classes require a teachers recommendation. So, talk to your science teacher and ask her if you can be bumped up to Honors Biology.

I'm in all honors classes. It's not that the work is hard or anything, but you have to apply yourself to it. You have to put in an effort to do work and study and read a lot. If you think you can do that, then go for it. ^_^

None of my brothers got "Recommendations". They were sort of guided by the counselor. But we moved a lot so...

In high-school only a few teachers would give recommendations to certain students, the rest of the teachers wouldn't as they left it up to the students and guidance counselor.

Well I think the teachers recommendations are pretty important.
I have no idea what type of student you are but if you want to challenge yourself, by all means take your life in your own hands and sign up.
