It's because typing in all caps is against the rules Do not post topics in all CAPITAL letters. Not only are all capital titles annoying, they do not explain the subject any better than normal letters. Topics with a high amount of capitals may have their title changed to lower case. Only in extreme cases will titles in all capital letters be accepted

When you type a word in all caps on the internet it is seen as yelling, and is frowned upon on forums.
My guess is that like most forums, VT has a yelling filter enabled.

Why do you need to type a word in all caps anyway? If it's for emphasis, why not type in bold instead?

Please don't do that all the time though, it's so annoying... Why not just use Bold? I notice bold more than capitals.

for emphasis i just italicize the words....i dont really bold. but if i want to add extra epmphasis or am, in fact, yelling, i put it in CAPS.....idk. i guess we all have our own way of tryin to get ppl to get what we are saying....it can be difficult trying to get people to understand exactly what we are saying and how we are saying it over the interwebz
