If they ask you to cam through instant messages, take a screenshot and send it to an admin or a gmod. Let them know what the person's username is on VT, if it's not clear from the screenshot.

If it happens in flashchat, taking a screenshot is best but you can also tell an admin or gmod who it was that asked you, and approx. what time it happened. Then, they can look through the chat logs and find the proof there.
