Good luck to all those who try. I'm not quitting that easy, but when I do, I'll come here.

That's great...NEVER TOUCH THE BLOODY THINGS!!!

When you think smoking, think filthy drug addiction. It's the worst drug deal you can get, they tottlay rip you off, hook you on the stuff, it barely gives you any physical effects and its the most dangerous drug out there - it kills more people than all drugs do combined!

I wanna quit because I have asthmah. Tried at new year: failed. I'm going over to see my dad in Belgium and my half-brother lives there (he's 3) and I don't want to be a bad influence so I'm going to try again then.

Last cigarette: smoking now. :(

Why not? what are you waiting for - next year, the year after? Smoking is like that its a 'trap designed to keep you in for life'. Once you get past the brainwashing aspect and look at smoking for what it really is, you'll see that its important to give up and never to give up giving up.

It's the most important decision you can make in your life, why not make it now?

Well, now I'm not waiting for anything. A friend of mine says he's not going to hang out with me anymore if I keep smoking so I'm going to attempt to quit today. I'm going to buy some nicotine patches in about two hours.

Have a good crack at it. Mind you, patches aren't that successful as a means to quit, try downloading a stop smoking hypnosis tape (have a search around for Paul Mckenna)

Nicotine patches work buy giving you the nicotine your body craves whilst you give up. Although, isn't it just easier to shorten your withdrawal and stop smoking or taking anything nicotine related all together?

yeah but it's difficult to stop. The patches come in stages so you can slowly ease off the nicotine. A trick my uncle uses is buying the ciggarettes and just not lighting them.

I prefer stoping cold turkey, the patches get costly but its harder for alot of people to quit so i dont blame them.

eh ive been smokin for about 6 months like constantly... before it was just one here n there... some people might not agree... but ive found smoking to be a good stress reliever. which is why i havnt stopped yet... for me i justify it as would i rather be an emotional mess, cutting, pushing my friends away, being suicidal... or do i instead spend a lil money here and there shave a bit of time off of the end of my life and be okay to deal with things? to me the descion is not hard, though i am workin on cutting back.

I’ve stopped smoking for 3 weeks now, I don’t really know how am I doing this, but the thing is, when I’m with my friends, and if they smoke, I get really temped to do it again.. and sometime it’s just to have something to do with my hands… in those cases I just grab a beer or my cell and have it until I my temptation to smoke goes away… some times it takes all the night, which sucks cause I either get drunk or my friends think that I want to leave… is there anything else I can use to stop that f*** temptation to smoke again?
