I am the only person in my town who likes Justin Bieber. I was wondering if they're were any other people out there that do and if so what was there favorite. My favorites are One Less Lonely Girl, Down to Earth, and Favorite Girl.

Lol.

He's actually not that bad, wouldn't say I /like/ him as a musician, but he's not bad. I actually discovered him through the Zune marketplace as a 'recomended' artist. >_<

He's not terrible I just don't like the whole look and sound 12 years old thing. I rather listen to people who have actually gone through puberty.

Justin Bieber is okay. I like Bigger and Love Me. He's kinda cute but he looks and sounds wayyyy young. When I first saw him I thought he was 13. Lol

Ok, first of all he is 15, has gone through puberty if you have watched any videos of him talking, and just because his voice is somewhat high-pitched doesn't mean he isn't talented.
How many of you are bilingual and got a record deal from usher? I have been friends with him on youtube since before he wrote one time. Anywayz, enough with my rant. My favorite song by him is First Dance. I actually have never heard of Bigger.
Time to youtube.

Being Bilingual isn't really that much of an accomplishment, most Canadians are (a little bit at least). and it isn't hard to sing in a different language.

Usher wasn't even that cool :\ just saying.

Also being friends with someone on youtube before they got famous isn't much I listened to soulja boy before he got signed and now I hate him. Justin Beiber is just to kiddie sounding to me seems like he should be singing about riding to school looking at the pretty birdies flying by. It's just my opinion about him that puts me off his music.

I know plenty of people who don't think he's there style but you could have said it nicer then that. You don't know him even if you don't like his music he could still be a cool person to hang with and yet you're sitting there preparing your gun for your foot.

Fair comment. I appologise if you think i've been to blunt, thats just the way I am sometimes. He could quite well be a cool person to hang out with, he probably is. But yeah, if we went through the bands/musicians I like, we'd most probably get a few conflicts there so y'know.

He's hot and all but I personally don't like his singing that much. I also think he started to young because boys who sing in their teens are in puberty that means voice crackings. Once that happens to him, Ding right down the toilet. If you read comments on iTunes all the girls say he so hot and cute. That's mostly the reason why he's popular.

Time to youtube.

I'm trilingual, and people stopped giving a fuck about Usher like 3 years ago.

He's just like the disney stars. Sorry, but I like the sound of adults singing. That style isn't appealing to me. Besides "cute" young musicians with no talent or experience at all are in demand right now.

I heard one of his songs, and surely hope I don't hear another.

More or less that. Right now, he's trading on his looks. Which is going to be quite enough, for a while. But what else can he sing about other than pretentious love crap, really? The kid hasn't experienced enough real life to actually have anything to sing about.

People that listen to music like his don't have a trained ear.

Well that's just dumb. The songs are generally not very good and stereotypical bubblegum pop aimed at teens, but he undeniably has a good voice.

I am not a fan of Justin Bieber but it drives me nuts to hear (or read; in this case) how much people hate him. He's just a kid, no older then I! I don't think he was asking for this kind of popularity before he became he attracted this much attention. Furthermore, He becomes as popular as we make him; its not his fault his music is adored by enough of a minority for his music to be played everywhere. He's a respectable singer with plenty of potential and he's better then the average adolescent his age. I've done music for half a decade now, and I've been in a choir for almost a year and still, I swear that he's better then me! I don't like listening to him, but I still respect him for his accomplishments.

Alright, obviously my comment has been hated on, but I'm just stating my opinion. I think he is over exposed, lacks talent of any sorts, and replicates every teenage pop singer doing love songs. I know it's a big accomplishment and all to be successful at such a young age, but honestly give those who have talent are mature enough a chance.

Guy's do some research before you open your mouth and prove your idiocy. His voice has dropped. If you watch any videos of him talking he has a deep voice. He sings like that on purpose. It's different. Unique not cookie cutter love songs like you guys are saying. Besides 15 is the age miley cyrus started why are you making justin sound so young?
I made this thread to see if I could find people who like him. Because my town is filled with people who want to push him off cliffs. Instead I found more and more haterz.

Yes, they are cookie cutter love songs. He has a very good voice in a technical sense, but don't insult us by pretending his music is unique or especially awesome. At the moment, it's just bad cookie cutter pop.

And we're making him sound so young because he does sound so young. His voice is currently that of a prepubescent boy. It'll change, but you can't fault people for disliking the sound, especially when it's so overproduced. And I don't even hate his voice: some of his earlier non-pop work is actually excellent vocally. But you, like most girls, seem much more interested in him than his music.

They're catchy because pop as a genre is catchy. More people like Bieber for his looks other than his voice. Like David, I have checked out some of his pre-pop work. I must say, I'm thoroughly impressed, but the fact of the matter is that he is in such an overused and overproduced genre that his voice is just too stereotypical of pop. It's like putting a blues and rock guitarist and telling them to switch genres. It just doesn't work.

It IS NOT COOKIE CUTTER!!!! He has respect for women unlike most singers these days. His "prepubescent voice" is different from everybodys. You aren't helping his case any. Look at comments to his music videos on YouTube, it's all "omg u r soooooo hawt" by all the girls who "love" him. Look, he got in by singing about love/girls and on looks. That's the only reason people listen to his music, it's because he's got the cute face and girls want to get in his pants (not much in there probably, but since you're so willing to defend him, I'm sure you'll have a retort to it).

His voice...well, I can't really tell because I only listen to females voices and I hear both to very skilled people like Tarja who is a soprano to Britney(Who does playback most of the time probably but I still like her) so I probably would like him too if I cared for male vocalists.

Jesus kid, how do you even know? You have absolutely not one whit of actual personal knowledge of the kid: you see the image that was created for you by the people marketing and grooming him. If you ever read an interview with his manager you'll realize that even the vaunted Youtube videos that shot him to fame were at least in part a designed marketing ploy directly suggested by the very same manager.

For example: the way he talks is a completely manufactured swagger-esque American hip-hop styling that is not at all natural. The kid grew up in rural Ontario, he's not all of a sudden after little more than a year in Atlanta naturally gotten a new accent and saying shit like "shawty" all over the place. That's manufactured. Like so much else about him - but he's a pop star? What do you really expect?

His "prepubescent voice" is different from everybodys.

You quote that like I'm implying it's a bad thing. I'm not. I come from a musical family and there is a long musical tradition of prepubescent male voices making excellent and beautiful music. Which is why I don't spend all my time going "OMG HE SOUNDS LIKE A GIRL WHAT A FAGGOT LOLOLOL!"

Now yes he is good looking but he's not famous for it.

Now this is just a stupid statement on the face of it. Yes, he's a good singer; but that is not why he gets millions of girls (and gay guys, apparently) screaming. It's his looks that have been by far the largest part of his fame so far. You're young, so I guess you don't remember the boy band craze, or Aaron Carter, or whatever other teen pop stars that their fans would rabidly insist are "really talented" and "not just famous because of their looks" - until the next cuter teen boy comes along and they're all of a sudden drooling over him.

Now, at the end of all of this, I'm not actually slagging the kid. Like I said, he has a good voice and I hope once he gets more personal force - i.e. gets a little older - will start to exert some control over the significant overproduction that's making him derivative. But it takes a true fanboy to drool out the kind of post you just did.

Every artist I have posted in this music section has been bashed to no end. I think I should just keep clear for now.
