When I was fat, it didn't use to matter what brand of pants I took. 38 was 38 and it'd fit me just right, no matter the style or the brand.

Today I went to buy some pants, and I had to go through 10 pairs to get one that fit ok. Sometimes 32 was a bit too large but 30 was a little too tight, and other times I had difficulty closing 30s but I floated in 32 like they were my old 38s.

One would think 30 inches is 30 inches and 32 inches is 32 inches but apparently for pants makers this isn't so. My waist is at 31" flat btw.

Anyone else has pants problems?

I think the problem could be simply that you're between sizes.

I'm not 100%. I buy my jeans second-hand, but usually a 34 is a 34 is a 34*. Maybe it's harder with the smaller sizes to keep them consistent.

*Yes, I buy men's pants. When you're only an inch shorer than the average male, it's hard to find girls jeans that fit

It is very hard for me to buy jeans. My thighs are big, but I'm not fat. Regular jeans feel like skinny jeans, which I hate. I have to get a 32 waist, but I need "loose" fit that is VERY loose. I've only got 1 pair of jeans from the last 2 years that I actually like :D

Just find a brand that fits you. I find that Volcom and Pacsun brand jeans fit me perfectly so I buy those, they may be expensive but I'd rather shell out the extra money. I find that 30 x 32's fit me, but 31 x 32's fit me better. Just keep looking for the ones that will fit right.

I buy girls jeans, because I can find a size that's not in the "young adult" section. I usually buy skinny jeans so thats a plus.

Try a lot of stores, because they all have different sizes and styles.

Goodluck!

lmao! story of my life i have a 31 waist and a "bubble butt" so 30's r usually tight and 32's r usually loose around the waist but fitted in the ass :P...some brands will make 31 waist, but most don't :/

find a brand that u like that makes the 31's...or loose/gain more weight :p

Waist sizes aren't an issue, but my legs are long compared to my waist size. I need a 30x32, which is hard to find in a small town.

Yeah, this is becoming a pain in the ass for me too. Depending on brand, I'm either a 31 or 30 waist and a 33 or 34 length. Those sizes are hard to find, and it's made more complicated by the fact that I have big quads and hamstrings; straight fit jeans from many brands fit me like skinny jeans. Ah well.

So today I went again to buy pants. This time I took good note of my observations.

First of all, I'm ex-fat. As an ex-fat I'm very used to large clothing to hide my proportions : but now I'm left with a 31" waist and a nice ass (bubble butt as they may term it).

Here's the story. I tried the following pants :

-31x32 slim fit : legs just right, waist just right. Too tight for my comfort around the ass area. I lacked dick space. Is that par for the course and I'm too used to large clothing or is it a bad fit? I never wore skinny jeans before.

-30x32 relaxed fit : okay ass area, waist just right, and legs WAY too large. They also hid my form which I didn't like at all. After all I'm not fat anymore, might as well stop dressing like someone with no sense of style and show off my ass a little.

-31x32 regular fit : problems everywhere. Screw that.

I don't know what fits and I have no female friends (or a knowledgeable male one) to bring with me to tell me how I look. I don't wanna dress fat. I'm starting a new life.

God damnit.

I don't really have that problem. I wear A&E, or Calvin Klein jeans. 30 × 32 and they fit comfortably. Calvin klein's and hollister are really snug on the thighs and somewhat loose on the calves. I like 'em like that.

I can never find the right size of pants when I shop at A&E because that's the only place I wear pants from, but it's so hard to find 32x34, because 34's are pretty obscure there, but when I do find pants that are the right length, they're fine. Just got a new pair today.
